  • Nice work here by @4Pockets - Evolver FX looks powerful and impressive B) .
Anyone know if it got multi-out in the end? In my panacea the 4 lanes can control 4 different AUv3 synths.
Also do any parameters have midi learn (or even just manually midi mappable)?
And my last question, how heavy is it on cpu? Are we talking Moog Model D or 15 level pain here?

  • It's very light on CPU, importing samples could be easier. Really awesome. Haven't tried / checked midi out or parameters actually. Will check tonight.

  • OK, just to close the loop on my own questions (in case anyone is interested)...

    1. Does EvolverFX have multi-out?

Yes it has multi-out. The use case here is sending Evolver's audio (not midi) to separate tracks so that you can apply your own FX, panning etc. Lane 1's audio outputs to (remains inside) the track containing the 'master' instance of Evolver. You then add up to 3 further DAW tracks selecting multi-bus AU instance as the source for each - the audio output from Evolver's lanes 2, 3 and 4 are sent to these if multi-out is enabled.

    1. Can you get the 4 lanes to control 4 different AUv3 synths?

Yes, the midi for each lane can indeed be sent out (nothing to do with multi-out). For each lane whose midi is to be sent just scroll down to the Zones section and turn the "midi out" knob clockwise until the midi channel you wish to send to is selected (by default this knob is set to 'off'). Make sure the track in your DAW is listening on that channel. Note that Evolver will only send midi if SEQ is enabled for the lane and Voice Mode (in Sequencer>Notes) is set to Sequence rather than Wave Cycle

    1. Do any parameters have midi learn ?

Oh yes, I use AUM and saw tons of parameters exposed. Note that the "midi in" selector knob in Zones (next to the "midi out" knob mentioned above) defaults to 'all'.

    1. How heavy is it on cpu?

Thanks for your input here @auxmux - I saw the same, DSP % is very reasonable. I guess because it's using samples thus no crazy sound synthesis calculations sizzling the cpu.

  • Sorry to dig up an old thread. But @4Pockets - when is full sfz import going to be implemented? The experimental import doesn't work very well. This app is almost a wavestate hardware synth, which is amazing. In my opinion, it really stunts the growth of the app without this feature fully working. Chameleon doesn't support importing sf2 or sfz so I can't even import from there and then import over to EvolverFX. Hope you can find the time to work on this. Don't give up please. Thank you.

    +1

  • +3 Definitely the closest thing to Wavestate. Easy SFZ import would take it to the top.

  • I see the app is on sale currently. For those of us who are lazy, is it possible to make decent backing tracks using presets? I appreciate it's really deep and it'll be fun to dive inbdeep one day...

  • Just purchased and I’m having an issue in standalone mode on the iPad.
On the performance tab chord pad, when I try and generate a chord set, I select the root note but the dialogue box that pops up is blank so I can’t choose major, minor etc. any idea what I’m doing wrong?

    It's working for me:

    iPad OS 16.7.1
iPad Pro 11 in 3rd Gen

Edit: As usual - recommend to restart the iPad if you have not already.

  • That’s strange. I have an iPad Pro 11 but have updated to iPad OS 17.03
    I also can’t assign a chord to a pad either….

I did notice a couple updates to other 4Pockets apps for iOS 17 related to blank menu items in the release notes.
MIDI Strummer was one of them, and this sounds related to me. I would recommend reaching out to Paul at 4Pockets for assistance.

  • Thanks, I have posted on his last YouTube video but don’t know if he’ll answer. There doesn’t appear to be many ways of contacting him?

You can try [email protected] - I used that email back in 2022, and it worked.

    Just remove the dots

  • Great, thanks! I’ll give it a go and see how I get on 👍

I am uploading a fix for this issue, although for me it only happens on iOS17. This is an iOS17 bug, which causes popover controllers not to display correctly if one is displayed quickly after another closes.

  • Brilliant! Thanks Paul, your quick and efficient support is truly appreciated 👍😁

Fix is now there and works fine on ios17 👍😃
