Yah it is pretty close to gone for me too. If I ever figure out how to get a dedicated static IP set up on my desktop that does not boot out my internet connectIon then I will be good with using Files 100% and wont need Documents wifi drive option.

I'm not sure what your IP address problem is, but here's my solution: Use a fixed reservation in the router's DHCP server. The easiest way is to login to the router while the computer is connected, and just tell it to use that IP (whatever it is) always. This works even if the computer doesn't use DHCP, since it just tells the server not to give that IP to anyone else.

Yes it is. The Pro version has some useful features; remembers multiple connections iirc.

I should mention also that FE File Explorer Pro has been actively maintained for years. I think I got it with iOS 8. The developer is quite responsive the few times I've had questions or a glitch after an update.
