What if AUM was able to do split view and slide over?

Wouldn't that be great? At least for my workflow it would make things a lot easier an quicker.

Since AUM runs ok on iPhone, is there a reason why multitasking is not supported on iPad?

  • Yes, that would be great.
It does allow other apps to slide over it though. That's often very useful.

Audiobus does support split and slide.

yes but AUM has that little record button :)

  • Yes would be useful :)

  • ok, i bring the creator in the loop...

    @j_liljedahl, what are your thoughts?

  • Yes, since the channels are all vertical, it seems a perfect candidate for split screen, and it would be helpful indeed. Slide over isn't ideal, you sometimes want a 50/50 split.

  • It would also be good if AUM was to act like a looper instead having to go and look it out then set it off.

Well, the other part of it too is AUM can't slide-over other apps, though they can slide-over it. That + split view would be terrific.

Yes, I would love to see the file player have the ability to set start and end points for looping audio files, with possibility of fade in/out. Might be asking too much, but would be a great feature.

You should know I have feature requests to keep me busy for many years ahead already... ;)

Regarding slide-over and split-screen, yes I agree that would be nice. But it's quite some work because the UI needs to adapt on the fly and not only at app launch as it is now.

    Was that a hint I wonder? 🤔

Is this anywhere on the horizon?

But it’s doable in Stage Manager…

  • I would say I miss "Arrange AU windows à la Windows 3.11" a tad more, but I would be crazy to affirm that. My iPad mini is cramped as it is

  • What if AudioShare wasn't abandoned?

  • If AUM got something resembling an arrangement view, I would throw out my laptop and never pirate another copy of Ableton in my life. I feel like it's not too far off from this, I can already multi track record full tracks in AUM, and play them all back in separate tracks. Seems like a pretty easy step to go from there to having a simple arrangement view type visual to the tracks being played

I'm a huge audioshare fan, and I use it every day but I finally bought sample crate, and I like the drag and drop ability. Still using audioshare, but that's the one feature I'd love.

Did you try MultiTrack Audio Recorder from 4Pockets?

I haven't. I have a lot of 4pockets apps.... they're great but for some reason I tend to forget about them. I think it might have something to do with the app icons and GUI being essentially the same for all of the apps

Do you get a lot of use out of that one?

Get Logic. AUM is great but if you want to record and arrange, Logic covers this.

Is there a paid version of logic that isn't a monthly subscription?

    Have a look at this:

Thanks! Looks great. What brings you to these parts if you don't create music?

Damn. Monthly subscriptions don't really fit into my lifestyle.
