    Dope ! Preordered !

Thanks SO MUCH for this app !

I don’t see choke groups in the app :) choke are part of this amazing app ? :)

Good catch. That is a vital feature. I hope it's there. If not, I hope it comes soon.

Nope, I asked, along with other basic stuff, but it it what it is ;)

I love the per slice options. For me that is what Reslice misses otherwise reslice is pretty wildly good. Preordered as you are a top dev 👏

One question, can we fine tune pitch on a per slice basis? I like having the ability to tune drum kits in apps like these from external controllers. Forgive me if its been asked ten times already (Oh! the shame)

Nope, another one i asked for, again it is what it is ;)

@RockySmalls seems to me a good feature for an editor/tool app more than for a kind of instrument/sampler/chopper. sEGments is really focused on a quick and smooth workflow....drag any audio file, slice it, play it

maybe you have to have used such a feature to get why it’s sort of ‘integral’ to slicers. ( the sampler in Orion etc )
but no worries I won’t be cancelling my pre-order :) i don’t for one second imagine it’s a trivial thing to implement...
look forward to the Egg slicing and maybe a bit of cross pollination with midi loops from Auditor applied to entirely different samples in SeggMENTS :)

This is why I asked him to implement Apple loops, at least you can use auditor to make all your slices, save the MIDI, then load the apple loop in this, it will recognise the slices and you have your MIDI too.

  • Pre-ordered! This is looking very much like the Serato Sample workflow for iOS that I’ve been wishing for! This gives me one less reason to fire up the desktop computer!

Really? Hmmm...that’s something I use a lot in ReSlice. That’s a must have for me.

  • Would love to hear from @ElliottGarage about choke groups.

Yes, I've tried to bring @Turntablist on my side :D just after some time I understood that we have in mind 2 different apps and I didn't want to twist my workflow idea

There was the opportunity to make the defacto standard quick sample plugin on iOS, but it only got 80% there sadly.

    Stupid phone double post

  • Choke groups will be on the final release. About Tuning single slices you can, but now it snaps on semitones shift

That isn't fine tune, for example if you load a loop and want to sync it, you cant do that in semi steps ;)

  • About apple loops, yes I’ve included The support in the app, but I’m curious to see how much it will be used. Finding some reliable documentation was a nightmare...

Excellent, thanks for the swift response.

  • @Turntablist its not over... let’s go with the first release, then there will be time to add things (who follow Pulse update path knows what I’m talking about)

This is quite true. Pulse was fine and filled a minor gap in the AU ecosystem and then it just exploded into a really robust app.

well then, that was an excellent call and makes it worth the entry price for me , at least i don't have to rely on matching transient markers.. I’d forgotten all about the Auditor apple loops thing... hilariously i have hundreds of gigabytes of sample libraries from the old windows days where i only kept the Acidized wavs and binned the Apple loops as irrelevant to save on hard drive space!!! whoops.
the time stretch in Auditor is getting pretty snazzy too.
    tanks for yr input.

No disrespect mean't here, but the stuff I suggested was a long time ago, and some pretty basic v1 release stuff....
    Missing from Beat Slicer Mode
    Choke Groups

    Missing from Keys Mode
    Ability to set root note
    Fine tune
Ability to set a sustain loop
    Either Legato or pitch bend

I have no idea how that is a different app, I have a lot of respect for what you where doing, anybody who knows me will tell you, up until a few days ago I was convinced that this was going to be the defacto standard quick sampler/Simpler on iOS that so many of us are desperate for, but it is what it is, iOS and the 80% rule, seems to be a real thing.

    Edit (forgot about fine tune)

With this app, is it possible to say import recorded electric guitar rythm loops and play them back in sync with a drum track? Amd say change the pitch to create a guitar track sort of speak?

I always wanted to do that with ReSlice but couldn’t for some reason. I just wanna be able to make guitar tracks on the go from loops since it’s wasier than carrying around my strat.

Kind of, if you want to generate the MIDI you will need Auditor, but its only 16 slices anyway, so realistically you can make the synced MIDI yourself in no time.
Changing pitches in realtime is doable yes.

  • Awesome! I think this is the app I’ve been waiting for especially to finally be able to use The Session Band Acoustic guitar apps!

  • Your main issue will probably be the pitching, to change that you will have to do it via automation

well... I’m glad you ate that midnight double cheese on toast!! i, for one, think that it will be a much used USP.

And I’m happy about slice pitching - sold!

  • Yes! Elliott garage updates like Crazy! He is amazing 🙌🏼

  • When you get it, make sure you try sample start/end automation too, this thing is buttery smooth, one of the smoothest I have ever used on any platform, I really struggled to make click even once, very impressive.

  • any chance for a demo of pitch shifting and especially timestretching?! thanks.

  • Fear not @ElliottGarage. You know this lot. They just want you to be the prettiest thing you can be etc.

Reading the description brings this little fella to mind but I can see there’s a fair bit more to segments.

I like this little fellow. Simple, but much can be done.
