@Michelelonghi Could you possibly support iOS 12?
Or does the app need a lot of CPU power so it's restricted to later models?
    Thanks!

Unfortunately this is the case. We decided to think ahead; supporting older devices and OSes would have been a huge limitation for future implementations we are working on. Sorry.

    Thank you all.

  • Is there any sort of velocity sensitivity a la velocity keyboard style?

Not yet. Velocity and after touch “emulation” coming in a future update.

I’ve been using it as ‘Mackie control’ for mixing in Premiere Pro. That’s not officially supported and doesn’t have its own template, but has what I need with faders / solo / mute. Communication is bi-directional.

The internal wi-fi is bust on my Mac, but I think this app is unique in connecting as a DAW controller over Bluetooth midi, so it’s really useful for me. Not 100% reliable on connecting, but that’s not necessarily the app’s fault.

I’ve tried it wired over a lightning cable, but couldn’t get that to work, app crashes.

Overall I really like it and think it has a good future, not needing a client app on the host computer is an impressively good thing as far as I’m concerned.

  • @steve99 Thanks for the details.. 👍
I think they mentioned that they were going to have (official) templates for PP + FCPX eventually.. using an iPad to control either of those apps would be interesting + cool..
Mainly an Ableton + Logic user when I’m not on my iPad.. use TouchAble Pro with Ableton which works extremely well for me.. haven’t tried the Logic Remote app + so was curious about how this would work..
Good to hear that the Bluetooth midi connection works.. needing a client app on the host is one extra thing to worry about.. seems to be a potential for trouble..

Hi guys, Michele here from ONE Instrument.

@steve99 about the crashes you have using wired connection: it's our recommended connection type (faster and more reliable) so it shouldn't happen of course. Please file a bug through our support desk.
@royor Adobe Premiere and Adobe Audition, and other official DAWs, along Novation Circuit support coming next week. Unfortunately Final Cut Pro could not be implemented, since Apple dropped Control Surface support for it (boo!).
We can't stress enough on the fact that Logic Pro is where you can get the best DAW control, since its implementation of the Mackie Control protocol is far beyond any other DAW, thanks to the legacy from the glorious Emagic Logic Control dedicated machine.

Remeber, 50% off until December 1st!

Hi Michele, because Premiere Pro is what I get paid for, I get my arse kicked if I spend too much time troubleshooting unnecessary (in the eyes of others) peripheral hardware :)

I plugged it in, enabled the iPad in audio / midi (on Mac) and the app crashed, I had to move on - falling back on the Bluetooth I’d had success with. When/if I have some time for myself I’ll troubleshoot it better, just upgraded my Ableton Live, so looking forward to trying it there. I’ve been jumping around OS’s trying to find stability for PPro, if that ever settles down I can give more useful feedback.

If you enable analytics data for developers in iPadOS privacy settings we should be able to see the crashes (anonymously of course) and hopefully understand the source of the problem. Cheers.

  • I'll enjoy investigating your Circuit implementation. I'm also in the middle of a Hackintosh adventure. Fingers crossed that I can finally start using Logic X when I get that sorted.

Too bad that the X is gone. Is only Logic Pro now.

  • @Michelelonghi Appreciate the updated info and the sale price for the weekend.. 👍 Will give it a go tonight..

  • @steve99 we discovered what caused the crash in Premiere using a wired connection. The fix will be available in the upcoming release (currently under review from Apple, along an officially supported template for Premiere and many other DAWs.

Excellent news - I'd just been trying again with iPad Air 2 and no wired connection possible, had more initial success with iPad Pro 10.5, but then it crashed, so very happy to see you are on top of it. Thank you.

Sounds good, will this support a wired connection on Windows as well as Macs?

iOS uses IDAM (Inter-Device Audio & MIDI) for wired connections. Not an expert on Windows so I can't tell if it has this natively...last time I checked there was an internal discussion about implementing it on Windows 10. For sure you can have it through external USB MIDI interfaces supporting it.

  • Extending Black Friday sale until December 3rd...don't miss it! 50% off

  • Will check this out. Might make using Ableton Live a bit more pleasant as I don’t like using a mouse to work with it and I don’t love it enough to buy a Launchpad/Push as a controller to reduce the mouse usage.

    ONE Control 1.1.4 is out!
Added official support for Adobe Premiere, Audition, Bitwig, Digital Perfomer, Sony Vegas. Solved a bug with wired connections, and more. Still in BF sale until the 3rd. Enjoy!
BTW now it has been rebranded to ONE Control Pro, since few other smaller editions are coming out.

Working well for Premiere and on a wired connection to Mac (with IDAM). I like the ‘no jog wheel’ option - can you perhaps make it fill the screen? Maybe 12 tracks, or 8 fat ones and a master?

Really happy with the app, I was using Avid Control, but that relies on their Eucon software - the only way I get good work done is with ‘Freedom’ internet blocker active, but this also disables Eucon. Now I can mix and edit in peace... once I chuck this phone out of range and deal with my ABF addiction.

Glad you’re happy. Mackie control doesn’t allow more than 8 tracks. In premiere you can assign all of the unused buttons on the right. I think it’s very handy.
Working on different layouts (included larger channel section) for the release with iPhone support (Christmas present). A good rating would be appreciated.

You all feel free to ask. The more we know about your workflow, the better the app can become.
