Great. I PM'ed you.
I got that! Re-mix is a great tradition and I like it when the 2 selected artists do a "take" on some common core. @Linearlineman and I found the option to change the instruments we choose based on a common MIDI arrangement in Cubasis. We selected different AUv3's and radically altered the mix and got a core composition with two arrangements as a result. It's not a competition but and invitation to share and diverge in the final stage. We made a serious effort to insure both our voices we're on display... his piano and my cello for example. I do think we got very lucky by slowly building a core we could express "over".
To start he sent me 4 bars of a baseline, for example. I decided to loop the baseline into a longer form and add some fizz strings. Small gestures to make a core for painting on.
Definitely a "Vs" but with rules like tennis to insure everyone gets a turn but at any point you can just keep the ball and use the back board while a virtual ball gets returned for the
opponent to get more time with the result.
Anyway... collab, vs or re-mix should all be encouraged because we'll get more music and
learn about the possibilities of IOS music making.
Well said. It’s a good way to get you out of a rut (if you’re in one) and try different genres or styles. Maybe explore other apps you might’ve ignored to create a certain sound. I’ve collaborated with a lot of people at this point of my life and the results are rewarding. Most important (to me) is the experience and/or bond that might come with the collaboration.
I'd be down for a matchup...but it better be with someone who has the patience of a saint.
(Endlesss or Zenbeats or Cubasis 2 preferred)
Is that ,'patience of a saint', because of speed or is it because of attitude. 😂
I do have Zenbeats.
Okay, cool.
I'm got a few things to do but as long as you're patient, I'm interested. 😁
Oh, this is interesting. Can I join this? I'd like to collaborate with someone.
Good timing.
Have a chat with @oddSTAR he's looking for someone patient.
Thanks, will do.
Edit: Just saw the post above. I do have all 3. Cubasis is my weakest one, so in the words of my mentor, "Focus on my weakness".
That said, endlesss is super fun. I haven't yet made a full song from it though.
Love it! Thanks, @Gravitas and @seonnthaproducer !
Awesome. Let's get to it. Let's see if we can make a full song using Endlesss into another DAW. I'm guessing Cubasis, but Zenbeats is also great. Looking to expand from just using Garageband.
Here is a remix of one of @LinearLineman’s songs he sent me. He supplied the initial notes and the drum loop. I chose the sounds and effects. I also added the bass and various other small synth lines.
wtf clip cant be played? @hypnopad getting 404
I’ll check again on SoundCloud. It played before. I’ll try to link it again.
@noob It’s up. Thanks.
Yep, doesn’t play. @hypnopad.
@LinearLineman Fixed
haha @hypnopad great , you love your delays hehe btw that bass pad is dope
There’s this collab between @rs2000 and myself, born outta this here very forum:

February of 2019... Good times. Dining, dancing and just hangin' with your homies.
I used the BandCamp tip jar for a quality production effort. You guys work well together.
I can hear the influences of @LinearLineman in the harmonic sequences. @hypnopad picked some excellent passages to build from. It's also a lot more pop than the typical @hypnopad incantations which was unexpected. I like this one a lot for how you changed each and made something new from your distinct textures.
Thanks so much, my dear @McD !
Thanks nks ks ks s s. Bass is from Waverley the new Mood unit.
Thanks @McD It was an interesting challenge. I think it turned out really well. This project definitely took me out of my comfort zone on several levels.I think everyone should stretch out and try something different.
I had only dabbled in Cubasis/Dropbox/SoundCloud before so it was all a bit unfamiliar.
More to come. I started a tune that we’re tossing back and forth and for another I took a section out of one of his piano pieces and am adding to it in AUM. May become a live performance.
Just to agree with @hypnopad and to encourage more of us to collaborate. Hypnopad’s instrument choices and additions were not in my usual sensorium of sound for my stuff. He took it to another place. And that was good. I’m glad we have two other, very different, projects to work on together,
Many attempts have been made in the past to get folks to put their texpertise to the challenge and take the small risk of posting creative stuff along with the tech savvy. Maybe working with another musician will push those who are reticent to show the result of their sonic explorations. We all learn from each other’s efforts.
So maybe this can become something like The Song Of The Month Club, only with collaborations.
That would be great. So, thanks to I forgot who started this thread... oh yeah @iOSTRAKON. Good going. I thought you were doomed to failure. But maybe not.
Me or the thread![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
@iOSTRAKON. The thread, my friend, the thread. The tooth, Dr. Yuey... the tooth!
Hahaha
Love too, collab ( I have asked someone a little while ago, but need a bit of breathing space).. especially if you can sing, but a bit busy at the moment..![:D :D](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
@iOSTRAKON, perhaps this thread might be rethemed to collaborative efforts past and present. I think that’s what @Lady_App_titude did. An ongoing place to post collabs is the idea, right?
It’s great to have an iOS platform, but periodically it is raised as a Rodney Dangerfield simulacrum.
If iOS is going to get respect it is not from technical advances but from pro work produced. When people visit ABF I think they may be coming with questions about its viability, IMO. I believe we should push our skills into creative output, if possible.
Bumping this to promote member collaborations. I wrote this propaganda on another thread...
We all have stuff to teach each other. We can write all we want about mastering, for example, but in a collaboration this aspect can be examined in real time. And equally true for arranging, instrumentation, FX use, etc. And an imbalance in experience is valuable, too. Collaboration can be a very effective form of mentoring.
We go out of our way to help each other with tech advice. I realize many of us here are not necessarily interested in completed tracks, but for those with that goal, I encourage you to read the Collaboration thread begun by @iOSTRAKON. The tools for virtual collaboration are very easy to use it’s educational and, gosh darn, it’s fun!
Agreed.
Another track should be ready by Monday if not before.
I'm having a whale of a time. 😇
