  • @rcf - some of the instruments have effects pre-applied for "big sounding pads" without having to set up your own fx chains. There are a set of "granules" instruments that have multiple and reversed delays applied. More of an "out there" textures type sound.

  • Lol I didn’t even realize this had effects too. Or the 30 second lfo, pretty great purchase. The timing of this one is perfect cos I’ve been planning on making a new album that’s far different than what I usually make and this will end up playing a big role in that.

@audio_DT IMHO, your comment is a bit harsh. This is version 1.0 and the dev is aware of the problem.

Yes, he probabbly will remove the currently visible parameters so that no other users experience crashes or sound drops - but i think we can assume that after that ‚hotfix release’ , he will be working on how to make the AU parameters work as supposed.

These are the dev‘s first steps into AUv3 land, and Apple doesn‘t offer good documentation on how to do things. I‘m very happy that moodscaper decided to chose the AUv3 way for his new releases, the plugin sounds great and the FX are a nice addition.

You're right, and now i feel very bad. I'm not sure i can delete comments? Ah, but i can write [deleted] or something, which is exactly what I'll do. The dev seems like a nice man and in fact all devs on here are, I've found. My apologies for being a d!ck. Sorry, @moodscaper ! I do love the app, too - I'm just a sucker for using the midiLFOs app with everything!

    All good.

I really enjoy the sound of Weaverly - setting up multiple instances susing identical midi input with different envelops and sounds allows for cool evolving pads :)

My thoughts exactly diy multilayered synth in AUM

Nice idea. I'll have to give that a whirl.

  • I noticed some of the videos feature the chord symbols A#M7 and D#M7.
Excuse my music theory pedanticism but these should be BbM7 and EbM7 respectively (as the other chords in the video are in the key of F/Dm).

@moodscaper Is it possible to swap between having a chord labelled A# and Bb in the app?
I’m probably the only person that would care though LOL...

  • @moodscaper some really excellent sounds here and the fx are great. Loving the simplicity here.

Yep. All of you pedantic music theory people trying to use words and symbols and theories to describe what sounds we're hearing! Those damn flats and sharps require different labels depending on what scale you are in, what mode or ascending/descending or oh for cripes sake I'll never get it straight. :-)

  • @iOSTRAKON
Hey, No biggie, but I was hoping you could change thread title to... Out Now or Released, at the end so people know Its out without going into the thread. Maybe it’s my own ocd or whatever But an updated title would be much appreciated it’s pretty easy just click on the gear icon in the top right of the first page of the thread. Thanks in advance.

  • Yup 5 apps for 5 bucks.

That 30 second LFO is really cool. I don’t think there’s another app that goes that high, At least out of the apps that I have. Can anyone think of one?

"they are sampled from Moog hardware"

I'm a sucker for those sounds... been lusting after an AUv3 Animoog for ages.

Maybe this can scratch some of that itch for $5 and adding FX to those sounds too?

    Moog On.

  • Fixed ;)

  • Really nicely done ... superbly crafted samples with excellent FX ... and all surprisingly CPU efficient . A very interesting - and musical - approach.

    Well said.

  • So it's a kind of rompler with some modular functions as the fx are separate apps. What is so different from another synth?

  • It doesn't really do anything you couldn't accomplish with other synths and fx. But it samples high end analogue synths and fx, nicely curated with some great pre-baked fx, and put together in a very very cpu-light package, for a pretty low price.

  • Here's the vid I did on it

Me too. Maybe v2.0 is an Animoog rompler 😮

  • @Groby and @Gavinski
Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that it is a bad or a good idea. I am just trying to figure out how this “modular” approach can be used in a convenient way. For example, there is a clear use case in ApeMatrix where you can have an interesting control on the routing of your signal (see picture). On the other hand, I have to use 5 slots just for one synth...meaning that it is maybe not appropriate for complex projects where you need multiple synths....

  • Instant buy for me, great developer, great products, perfect price ;-)

  • @cuscolima I can understand why an apematrix user would worry about running out of slots. That's an apematrix problem. In aum it's not an issue, and I like this modular approach, though as it is lightweight anyway, there could just have been one synth unit and one fx unit, rather than several multiple fx, true. But this modular approach also gives you control over the order of routing the fx. In most synths you don't get control over the routing order. Eg. Here you can go through the reverb before going into delay, etc. So there are always benefits to a more modular approach. Plus, you could go from the MU delay, through another app entirely, say fab filter saturn, and then back out through the mu reverb. You couldnt do this if it was just one fx AU...

  • The sampling on this is fantastic - really great sounds, and very usable. Just listen through some demo videos - got to buy this!

Yeah, that drives me crazy in Touchscaper. I mean, I know we’re in 12et and in theory it shouldn’t matter. But I don’t hear in 12et, and the wrong labels warm my legumes.

Rob has his own personal sound, and it is glorious.

  • just grabbed this! pretty freaking awesome! and the app store reviews are great... time to leave one myself.
these effects, while simple on the surface do amazing things and sound wonderful.
    great work @moodscaper

  • Thanks so much @reasOne - great to hear you like moodunits! While I'm "here", there's a little 1.1.0 update going out soon / awaiting review:

    • new larger layout view for Waverley on iPad
    • improved fix for crashes while switching sounds in Waverley
    • relaxed minimum iOS version to 13.0
    • miscellaneous small fixes and tweaks

Here's the new layout for Waverley, so if you max the AU window in AUM shown here, you can see all the parameters:

In the GB / standard window size on a 9.7" iPad of 1024 x 335 you can almost see everything, but would have to scroll the trem / pan parameters. Re-size the AUM window, and you get the current single or double table view. I thought this new big view might be useful.
