I’m getting a lot of crashes but glad to see the developer take the AUV3 plunge, hopefully it will get more stable with future updates. I bought the wave editor iap thing but held off from the other because it wasn’t and au. I’ll definitely buy the other wave tables now, the developer could have just made it so we’d have to buy a brand new app or buy AUV3 support as an iap, that was cool of the developer not to go that route.
I don't own Scythe/Wavestorm but the nerdy awesomeness of this feature line is pushing me towards it.
hold on to your LFO collections until he fixes the bug(s)
Crash noooo.....😭
@Skyblazer thx. Feedback sent.
Make sure to report the problems to the dev.
Totally different sort of thing.
@Lil_Stu07 thanks for this - well pleased with the update and continuing dev. Fits nicely in Audiobus and all my iaps restored no problem.
I would say this one's much deeper, and the included and IAP wavetables have a lot of personality, though they are geared toward pads. However, the wavetables are not presets, and the IAPs do not include extra presets, so the IAPs are more like foundations for your own presets.
The sound of the new version of Scythe, WaveStorm, is definitely modern enough, and definitely an upgrade...but Korg has that Serum-esque clean sound, so I would give it an edge on the sound engine. Korg has a more well-rounded and usable selection of presets, but fewer wavetables, fewer interesting wavetables, and you can't make or import your own wavetables.

I often get you two muddled up...
It’s not the only one that doesn’t validate : Atom Piano roll, midi Route, Dexed.
Some validate but doesn’t work like Octachron.
i thought this was for the synth called scythe that the icon looks like the simon says game haha i’ve always wished that was an auv3, never was able to dig this scythe synth, confusing since they both are the same name 😂 maybe it’ll be something i dig now
I didn’t say it’s the only app that won’t validate. I’m saying it’s the only synth currently installed on my iPad that doesn’t validate. I have a bunch that work fine. I don’t use much in the way of MIDI fx except Bram Bos. All AUfx that I use regularly are validated. Besides, if something doesn’t validate I don’t really bother because there are plenty of alternatives to most apps.
at least the names are different now
I’m going to stop just short of saying it’s brilliant. It’s damn fun. Love the interface tweaks and the random button works well.
Great stuff. Pairs well with an external filter (still) and any of the reverbs and delays of recent days.
Had a crash after hitting random button a couple times...
This doesn’t work well in beatmaker3, but it’s a huge step in the right direction
Always liked this little synth ... very under-rated - but actually a very well-designed and powerful bit of kit. Now even more useful. Many thanks.
Working great with no issues. 11” Pro latest OS. The thing is pretty different. Like it a lot.
i like it way better as an auv3, i still don’t get all the windows but i haven’t tried that hard.
i do noticeg strange audio a few seconds after i let off the keys, the app kinda seems to just play a random sound that is very similar in all the presets i’ve tried. maybe it’s supposed to idk
also do we know if the iphone version will be upgraded to wavestate ?
I have looked but I can’t find anywhere that demonstrates the IAPs. Am I missing something?
YES! I noticed that as well.
Kind of bizarrely intuitive in a "1984" Orwellian kind of way...
man that book was so accurate about the future it even predicted this synths audio trails 😅😂
"What did you dream,
Don't worry, we told you what to dream."
Perhaps the app should have been re-named "Dystopia!" 🤣

Epic Synth Riff
I can see the links.
haha absolutely would have been great!
my fav quote that seems to fit today’s culture... “ Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing”
it’s so clear now, soon the clocks will strike 13
Air 2, the synth basically plays the same sound no matter what I do, just always sounds like some kind of mid bass through a metal tunnel or something, lots of high end and reverb etc, the original was always hit n miss on the Air 2 too, I just assumed it was designed for Pros and stopped bothering with it.
Now iOS 13 only
Won’t run on my old Mini 2 and I’d love to run this as AUv3...
