Very unresponsive dev from what I've seen. This is just something that stretches (or whatever) one audio file, with more "promised" stuff down the road. Very vague appinfo. Always a bit weary with those apps/devs..

  • Yeah, wasn't sure what this app does even after reading the description on the store page. Luckily, there is an existing thread here.

  • Anyone already buy it? I dont see screenshots only one, and i want to know if is worth it, is like the previous screenshots or not.

  • I haven't bought it. But the answer would be - Not.

  • I downloaded it, and can't get it to do anything useful other than timestretching with ugly artifacts :) Also the UI seems buggy, or not finished. Hope it turns into something useful in a later update, but if I were the dev I'd change the "availability date" far into the future to remove it from the store until it's updated and usable. This will only get the app bad attention.

    Same experience here, unfortunately.

  • Yeah this app so far seems to be doing weird stuff to the beginning of any sample I load, then timestretches...with a lot of artifacts

Thanks @j_liljedahl . Yea, I mean the preview screens looked promising. So releasing it in this state does seem like something that'll just give the name app name Mosaik a bad rep

  • Thank you, I was wasting 89 cents but I stopped just in time! :D

  • Thanx for the info guys, i keep my money then for other app :)
Btw the Sector update is awesome!!! @j_liljedahl

  • On the other hand, if you trust the dev to update the app into something useful, it's a good investment to buy it while it's only 99 cents! :)

    @Aphex: Thanks!

  • Agree with all of the above after a quick flick through. It does advise reading the manual on startup, so perhaps I will do that when I get time before I dismiss it out-of-hand

  • Wow, I though this app was a little more developed than that! I mean 0.99 is nothing. I'm just surprised.

I just grabbed it as well. I feel like the potential is there but it is pretty crummy right now. I can get loops to sound in time using the beat offset but there's no fine tune or zooming in on the waveform (if you could call it a waveform?) for a start point. It also sounded more warbled when I exported the clip to Audioshare. For 99 cents I don't feel the gamble is lost... but what's the point of this early release if it's essentially useless? Time will tell I guess.

I'm hoping it develops further, the initial screenshots looked promising.

  • I guess they need a little funding.

I was thinking the same thing. This seems like a cash grab. I'm glad the devs here checked out the competition (using that word as loosely as possible) and I have no reason to believe their assessment isn't spot on.

  • Videos coming up in the next few days according to the dev.

ndvr: @Chris1a1 you can import audio files, it detects beats and you can change bpm, play with stretching engine, export. We make videos next days"

  • ok bit disappointed with this one.. gonna buy it in hopes the dev desnt do a hit and run cash grab

  • all the apps i was really interested in have been big letdowns.. only UVI Beathawk is left! Please be good Beathawk :(

  • At least they admit it's bad.

I took the risk of wasting one buck, or saving 7 in the future.

  • It also has really low output from headphones.

  • ok so had a play with it and yeah I wont be using it again until its updated. the time-stretch algo is terrible.

  • At least they are upfront with the situation. If you bought this you should already be aware of what's up.

I have purchased music apps that wanted full price and hid their faults as I'm sure many of you have as well.

I have also purchased apps from the developers in this thread (couple of my favorites) on their word that there would be improvements. Credit to these developers for their honesty and follow through.

This is the app many were so awaiting, right? If they find no audience it will not come to fruition. But maybe that's what some want.

It is a gamble, don't get me wrong. I would like to see more development on this, so I purchased it at the low price in hopes they hit a home run and I got in for a buck. Kinda like kickstarter if you will. We'll see.

  • Lol, I hope not. That was $17 then reduced wasn't it?

  • I kind of look at it as funding development, for less than a third of a latte...

  • Will that work? I'm asking myself how many downloads will the dev to need to finance the rest of the development. Surely it's a catch 22 – I would expect the number of downloads will be limited if it's an underdeveloped app.

I'm not hugely familiar with crowd funding but this sounds like a botched job. Yes they are honest about it even though rather than 'our app sounds shit' they say 'it is in very early stage of development'. In theory nothing can stop them to get paid by us for what they've done so far and just wrap up. With the brand name 'endeavor' I don't think they'll be too worried about ruining their reputation. I know money is not much but I'd rather see a crowd funding set up in a more traditional way.

  • Your making a lot of assumptions, it's not crowd funding.
