I've actually gone back to doing more stuff in logic, due mainly to some plugins that I don't have on my ipad. Still like using both together, plus I have more synths on my ipad and creative mangling tools.
Don't need to apologize
Just today I manage an artist to those friends since I can't record drums at home and the artist needs "pristine" sound and so. Even if I could do it someday I don't want to deal with it anymore. I prefer do my easy "one take" approach lol xD but If I record someone else I will never promise the moon or charge a pro price for it since it wasn't pretend to be.
I realize it when I find myself not giving enough work for my mac mini to worth the cost it had.
Not making music at all lately. Working towards a fulltime job. Can't wait to get back in the music once on salary again. IOS or PC ratio depends on forthcoming schedule / free time.
Nope. It's been years since using a computer. First it was OP-1. Then ipad. Both portable. Although quite capable in the right hands, the op1 was too drastic of a change for me; not having proper meters and the whole committing early to audio. But the ipad seems to straddle a nice line to me of pro-audio and in the box type restrictions with dedicated apps. It took a long time to find a work flow i liked, but i finally work comfortably with one ipad alone. Not the direction i wanted to go, but having to take a pay cut, sell gear, and having a 1yr-old? If it we're for the ipad and a good set of cans, i wouldn't be making anything at all. The ipad is perfect for 20 minute sessions here and there. I just miss having a full size keys MIDI controller. But the qunexus gets the job done.
Yes.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Modern notebooks, fast SSD's and high resolution screens are so much better these days.
I like a mobile set-up and iOS is great (well, not iOS but the music apps i can get there).
But my notebook is yet still the perfect thing to beeing very mobile but also having a powerful workhouse.
After using mainly iOS and migrated to macOS, then back again more to iOS, at the end using both side by side since a few years.
There are just so much tools i can't get on iOS yet and not sure if that would work on small screens with "only" multi-touch input.
IOS apps are damn cheap! Or? Not always.
If i compare some bigger tools and all the free stuff you can get for mac/PC and count all my iOS apps and what they can do it's a bit of illusion that iOS is much cheaper. It's only they case for tools like Nave, Fabfilter where the exact port costs justs a fraction.
Still i can do much more in a DAW like Logic compared to all iOS DAW's.
Also to get the best sound out of idevices and beeing able to play like i want i need a proper audio interface and a hardware controller (but i like using Model 15 and Animoog on screen) anyway and it's not so mobile anymore.
At the end i like using both and iOS and tablets/smartphones never can replace a powerful notebook or desktop but i love them as additional sound source, controller and for a few very unique apps.
But especially last year i saw so many new desktop synths and tools while i didn't saw so much new interesting things on iOS (of course therexare a few).
I will still using both systems side by side. At the end i just care about my favourite tools and developers!
As always personal preferences and at the end the output is music and sound design. I don't seperate music in desktop music, iOS music or whatever i see in the net these days. A listener gives a shit how it was made
