32GB
@matt - ok so seems like its not consistent with the model either.
I have a 16GB Ipad 4 that works with ICM2+ and a 64 GB that does not work - same issue as yours.
@matt Have you contacted the support team ?
Not yet. Plan to do it this weekend.
@matt
I have returned my ICM2+ as it did not work with the Ipad 4.
I beleive Iconnectivity are performing maybe a firmware revision for the device. atleast i hope they are.
hey guys, i have my ICM2+ at the box since 2 weeks, just following your posts in order to decide whether i keep it as a reliable tool for my live performances, or i give it back...
today i have decided also to give it back, i had so many hopes on this device. dawm! it seems iOS world is just a kid still trying to learn how to ride a bike!
i use my idevices as my main tool in front of the audience, and i just can't afford to crash my bike in front of 300 people!
There is now a note on the iCM Facebook page acknowledging that there is a problem with some Apple connectors and suggesting that you test them in the shop..... That's Ok as far as it goes. It seems to me however that the device is very sensitive to the cables used to connect it, more so than any other USB peripheral that I've tried. That makes it difficult to have confidence in its use particularly in Europe where sourcing replacement cables directly from iCM is not easy.
Amarmash- did iConnect support follow up in this? When I've contacted them, they've been extremely responsive, and kept at it until the issue was resolved. I'm curious to know what their response to your problem was, or did you or they just eventually give up?
The note on the iCM FB page has been there for several weeks @Skipp - not new.
I can confirm that ICM2 doesnt work with Ipad 4. It's not being recognised and for that reason I am returning too. It is very unstable product.
Checking in on this issue--I have an iPad Air, lightning to 30 pin cable adapter. Plugging icm2 directly into usb port on macbook. Getting the "device requires too much power" message. Icm2 does show up both in mac audio/midi setup and in ableton live, as well as chordion midi out. No midi or audio signal coming through in ableton however. Does anyone have a similar experience? Opened up a ticket with iConnectivity, waiting for reply.
Thanks..
Try a decent usb hub. That worked for me.
Works fine here for me with PC and ableton using lightning to 30pin cable. Adds another dimension to the possibilities of the ipad.
Great product.
Everything works fine on my iPad 4. Has a consensus been reached yet as to whether or not it was the adapters or unit itself causing all these problems?
I had the sane issue- device needs to much power, also had the msg that the device was not supported. I tried everything including the powered hub. Returned the product and waiting on the icm4+
Ok, updated firmware and now everything is working fine. Ipad air, lightning to 30pin adapter. No powered hub. Not sure if it was the firmware update or what, but both midi and audio pass thru are working great -- using both chordion and thumbjam into ableton.
That's interesting and worth knowing @disco3000.
What is the latest firmware ? What version is the icm2+ on now ?
Only way is to have the device hooked up and get iconfig to look for it. There is no way to tell by looking at the files on their site- they don't even show the firmware as a separate file, and the listing of files for the iconfig app does not show a date or version number.
I've been getting the error message all the time now. Unplugging and replugging always works at least.
Latest firmware version is 1.0.6.
As a side note, it would have been nice if they had the manual out by now.
If you mean for the 2+, it has been out for months. But it is still a draft from almost a year ago, and has a few errors.

The one for the 4+ has been out for a couple weeks now, also a draft-

Thanks for that link!
Has anyone successfully routed USB input 2 to DIN port out 1?
Hey @Amarmash,
You will want to use the latest firmware version, as it will clear up some of your errors. If you could post all your details HERE, a support team member will walk you through all troubleshooting needed.
Thanks,
-JS
Hi @Context,
This is possible. Any special MIDI routing done by the hardware will be controlled in the iConfig software or App. If you continue having trouble, you can send an inquiry to www.iconnectivity.com/support for further troubleshooting.
Thank you Josh. I had limited time to mess with it when I first tried but I will try again real soon when I have time to spare and I'l let you know what's up.
I've been using ICM2+with logic and ipad4 without any problems..i love using the iPad synths as instruments in logic. some of my fav sounds and editing is on the iPad
you need the power supply though for extended sessions..cant get one yet..only had a few midi note hangs..repluging iPad fixed perfect..make sure you use a good quality usb power hub..great piece of kit
@Phasmid Do you have a rec. as to USB power hub you like?
Hey everybody,
Mabe it's a bit off topic here but i'm interested in getting this for my new workflow. I read a lot good (and some not so good things) about it. My question is now can i use this to f.e. using Nave or SoundPrismPro on my iPad Air to control Alchemy, Omnisphere and other VST with it. Since i'm more a composer than a player but also try to play and record most parts live i need the virtual keyboard for scales, chords and of course an added dimension of movements via blades, XY pads etc. This would be the last thing which could give me finally my perfect workflow to combine all the things. I would use GarageBand and Logic Pro X.
Or would i benefit more with the 4+ here?
@JohnnyGoodyear
its a good idea to spend some $$ on things like Hubs and leads and not buy cheap crap.it saves you a lot problems in the future when your trying to get creative.
a good usb hub is D-Link DUB-1340 --get a usb 3.0 hub its 10 times faster.
always plug your sound card into your computer and not the hub
@Cinebient
Nave is one of my fav synths out there.and Animoog.
using the touch control for editing and sound sculpting makes the iPad the best midi controller ever.with the iconnect2+ you can make a seamless connection with Logic.
i would advise getting it.
