tbh would be cool to test Mystic River in a mashup/collab (destruction derby ofc) Edit ; already onit

  • Well, @McD, since neither actually sound like what it’s named, this conversation is only relevant in the real world, not the virtual. Except for piano, bass, cello and, maybe, drums, I have abandoned trying to squeeze these simulacra into the acoustic shoebox. Maybe StaffPad is better and iOS will get SwAM. Till then it’s all just different noises to me. Some noise sounds better than others,

  • @noob, go for it. I can send you my version of the project if you like.

I hear it as a flugelhorn. But I had a BM... so I can play the education card. Smart Ass.

OK. But next time use the Flugelhorn preset for variety :^) I know I can't hear the difference
when using iFretless Brass. I didn't check to see if the Euphonium and the Tuba also share samples but I'll bet they do. We was robbed with overcharges for the same files being used
2-3 times under different names. Shysters.

  • lot of text

It's a trick to keep music on the front page :^) and an exercise in creative writing.
    Thank you for playing along.

  • @noob, sent. Yes, CB3. @McD, you know “shysters” is a Shakesperean anti Semitic ref. Course, you do.☠️

I thought of it immediately and started to call it out but I decided to just see... check this out:

Very interesting. I was trained by musical racists. I knew something was "off". I just thought it was because the music didn't have enough rhythmic interest but there was even more to it. Ben Shapiro does NOT play well as an art critic.

guys i imported the CB3 project ..is it really 120bpm? that render feels slower
Edit;nvm got confused over filenames.. will sort it B)

  • @noob The BPM for my tracks was 100 BPM.

  • @noob, I ignored any particular bpm😉. 120 is the CB3 default.

  • FUK CUBASIS mid project crash

  • @noob is your hardware latency set to 11.7 ms?

  • no it was 5.8. mite be some plugin(s) wil have to chk

  • @noob, couldn’t get a thing done in 3 till I used the latency. I’d like Steinberg to make that clearer in Settings. No problem with any latency at 11.7.

I think the @LinearLineman's iPad has viruses... STD's for sure. Try the "Penicillin" app.
I used "stem/cells" to collaborate with him and always used protection. MIDI is the best bet
so you can use trusted apps and FX. Downloading his project "as is" can be a challenge.
He ignores all posted speed signs and just drives like a madman, high on endorphins.

Let's face it... he lived the life of a bohemian and it took it's toll.

  • @McD, maybe you should change your handle to @Mrprophylaxis. Do you think the residents of Bohemia are all Bohemians? I heard they’re quite industrious.

Karen just wanted to play the drums. Painfully shy.

This is the only thing in your dissertation-length post I'm interested in @McD. Well, that, and your droll references to pooping. I'm enchanted by Karen Carpenter. The fact that you met her, in person, I shall ever hold you in the highest regard. Or at least until the next thread about an app sale pops up.

Nice tune by the way you two.

I literally turned a corner a "ran into her" outside the CSULB Choir/Recital Hall. I thought Holy Shit it's
"that voice". It was like spotting a deer just around a tree. She was back on campus to rehearse with the
Choir for a fund raiser I learned later. It was a secret rehearsal because fame was already starting to
encroach on the life of a very shy and delicate human. She was one of those painfully shy girls that could make herself look unattractive to the opposite sex with body language. I was starstuck by her vulnerability and immediately sensitive that she didn't need me to show that I recognized her and might spread the word so that she'd get mobbed on the way out. I respected that and gave her the privacy she seemed to need.

It'a a blessing that Richard was able to get her to share that gift with the world. My mother had a singing voice that came close to that sound. My dad spotted my Mom at a talent contest in the 40's and fell for her voice. She was also a very reluctant performer but I could hear the voice when she laughed. I spent most of my childhood making her laugh.

You know I practice "Safe Sax".

Do you think the residents of Bohemia are all Bohemians?

    The question contains the answer.

    I heard they’re quite industrious.

That's where the phrase "busy beaver" comes from, silly.

(We have 333 views right now... should be go for 666?)

  • @McD ... maybe @AnticHay serves you better.

    Google to the rescue:

Antic Hay is a comic novel by Aldous Huxley, published in 1923. The story takes place in London, and depicts the aimless or self-absorbed cultural elite in the sad and turbulent times following the end of World War I.

The book follows the lives of a diverse cast of characters in bohemian, artistic and intellectual circles. It clearly demonstrates Huxley's ability to dramatise intellectual debates in fiction and has been called a "novel of ideas" rather than people.

It expresses a mood of mournful disenchantment and reinforced Huxley's reputation as an iconoclast. The book was condemned for its cynicism and for its immorality because of its open debate on sex.

666 Then? Can you edit the title... 'cause this horse has run it's race. I do feel a little spent.

  • @McD, so? Smarter than you thought, hay? Any way, I just watched the Ray Kroc story on Netflix. He stole McD(onald’s) but he gave 1.5 billion to the Salvation Army and hundreds of millions to NPR. An enigma wrapped in an egg McMuffin.

Ray Kroc didn't steal McDonalds... he was the owner so he was just getting free meals.

< Smarter than you thought, hay?

    Sure.

I have a question for you about this Collaboration. Do you remember why we did it? No one
is playing for this shit right? I mean that's the fundamental question for the artist that I can't really
    resolve.

    Why?

I'm sure you more than anyone can help me understand that "Why?" is just the wrong question.
But I will await your enlightenment on the question.

(If anyone else wants a turn at the mic... speak up... we're going for 666 people).

  • @McD, you made your dough elsewhere and you are in voluntary lockdown with nothing better to do. I am broke but free. Let us honor those who work all day (or night) and still do this shit. They are the heroes we are yesterday’s roast beef sandwiches.

I can always count on you to change your personality in the middle of a conversation. I think that's one of your better qualities: you make life up as you go along. No plan... just creative output.

Wouldn't "Why" require a plan to even make sense? "I wanted an outcome like this, so that."

    I think you're more... Be.

But Be in positive environments maybe.

OK... time for some Be time.

  • @McD check your email in a bit. I just sent you the next Be.
