Tape Pro by Caelum Audio
https://apps.apple.com/app/id1527986817
Description:
Tape Pro is a multi-fx tape emulation AUv3 plugin and app that introduces warmth, frequency shaping, modulation, noise and delay. Whether you want to accurately replicate a microcassette tape running at 1.2cm/s, or you want to drive a mastering grade tape machine with strange distortion shapes into a high feedback delay engine, Tape Pro is the plugin for the job.
Saturation
The saturation module is the first part of the signal chain within Tape Pro. It’s very flexible as it isn’t restricted to the traditional sound of tape and can be used to tune into your desired distortion sound. The module has 5 user parameters: Type, Drive, Asymmetry, Hysteresis and Remanence. The types of saturation on offer are: Tape, Digital, Rectify, Half-Rectify, Sine & Smooth.
Response
The response module within Tape Pro models the dynamic frequency response of tape. This can bring warmth, presence, or even jarring qualities to your audio - this is entirely subjective of course! The module has 3 user parameters: Type, Low Pass & High Loss. Tape Pro includes the following impulse responses:
Cassette Type 1, Cassette Type 2, Cassette Type 4, Worn Copi-Delay, New Copi-Delay, Mod Copi-Delay, Master SA812, Master TM15, Microcassette 1.2cm/s, Microcassette 2.4cm/s, Semi-Pro RB77 7.5ips & Semi-Pro RB77 15ips. Tape Pro also includes Minimum Phase (MP) versions of the IRs listed above (not including the copi-delay versions). If you are using Tape Pro in parallel, on a bus or on a send, we recommend that a minimum phase IR is used. (For more information on this please see the explanation in the manual available from our website).
Noise
The Noise module applies real, sampled tape noises to the signal chain. The module has 4 user parameters: Type, Pre/Post Delay, Gain & Crosstalk. The noises included are the same as listed above in the response module.
Wow & Flutter
The Wow and Flutter module emulates the natural irregularities in the physical medium of tape. Wow recreates the low speed fluctuations of tape speed, while Flutter recreates the high speed fluctuations. The modules have 10 parameters in total. Wow: Depth, Sync, Rate, Mod, Sync x2 and Mod Rate. Flutter: Depth, Rate, Mod, Mod Rate.
Delay
The Delay module is an emulation of an analogue tape delay machine. The module has 11 user parameters: Dry, Wet, Time L, Time R, Feedback L, Feedback R, Portamento, Enable, Initial, Sync and Link.
Tape Pro is both a stand-alone application as well as an AUv3 plugin, meaning it works within iOS and iPadOS hosts such as GarageBand.

Bought. Finally. I was waiting for this. Super lovely❤️❤️❤️
I really love all 3 of his apps. I’m curious about the DSP/CPU usage though... it runs high on the beta version of pro? Any refinements in that area?
glad to see this released! also curious if the release is a little better on cpu than the beta
What an amazing price for this fx.
Seems to be, running in an effect slot in AUM - a slight blip as you change presets but otherwise seems a lot better than the beta.
What are the differences among TapeCassette, TC2 and TC Pro?
Very nice, I had to restart my IPad for it to show up in AUM but everything’s fine now, a really nice upgrade from TC2, and the price also makes it a no brained imo
Pretty much this
How does it compare with ReelBus
Nice job on the UI btw
I used this since the beta and hands down this is one of my favorite fx plugins 2020! Absolutely love love love this!
Brilliant demo @david_2017
This is superb. Best VFM I can recall in an effect.
Thank you
Oh sorry sir. You hopefully saw this is from the Caleum official account. I just found it and saw it wasn’t posted already here. I like it when I can buy audio apps and have the chance to hear them in the first place
So, this Video was not done by me.
@david_2017 tx for uploading it here anyway 👌
Sounds fantastic!
I was glad to see the price point> @ExAsperis99 said:
Too many to mention, TC is an orange background with 4-5 black knobs, and sounds great. TC2 starts to look like TC Pro in terms of GUI, but still only has about 10 knobs or so. TC Pro has the completely updated GUI, with so many additional features, and knobs, for even more control over even more abilities. This is a very short descriptioN without specifics, but I hope it gets the point across.
No reason to use the others once you buy the Pro, right? I think the main thing, other than customization, is that the impulse responses from 1 and 2 (and 4???) are included?
Has anyone who purchased TC Pro noticed high DSP/cpu, I really love this app, All 3 apps really, heck I still use TC, but I’m curious to know how “heavy” the newly released TC Pro app is in an AUM session?
Thought you might like it...👍
I’m a sucker for tape emulation apps... bought!
It's really good. I was surprised to see this so cheap.
I really enjoy tape 1 and 2 but this is something else, diamond !
Really curious how it compares to ReelBus.
You can get real lofi with tape pro. I like Reelbus a lot but the choice of different noises and tape emulations (you know even the little microtapes are in here 1,2mm/s and 2.4mm/s) makes this a winner for me. Its really really cool.
Tempted. I use the freebie for a distortion effect, which is the best-sounding one I have found on ios so far. Yet I just spent all that money on Saturn, so why do I need this...other than that I'm still using the TC freebie more than I am Saturn?
Sounds loverly to my ears.
For mastering: ReelBus
Reelbus sounds better?
