More subtle and less digital aliasing.
this app is tons of fun and brings good tape vibes, i don’t really know how it compares as i just try to find a place for everything... but 4$ for this is an insane bargain and itll treat you right
what an excellent sounding tape app. if you are at all into lofi, warbly stuff, grab it. Hands down my favorite tape app. Maybe not for mastering, but for FX and sound design. Ive always loved Waves J37 tape plugin, for the ability to control wow & flutter, but this knocks it out of the park. the price is great too.
Only thing I hate about this is that the back and forward preset buttons are really unresponsive. Sounds are great, but it's a nightmare to click through presets. No one else finding this a problem?
I've literally stabbed the button to go forward from 'cassette type 2' to the next preset hundreds of times and it's not budging
@Gavinski who needs presets ? 😜. More seriously, it’s not easy, but not a nightmare on my pad. Didn’t try on iphone though... tape 2 is really difficult for me. Not this one.
Hello all!
Thank you so much for your kind words so far - we hope you're enjoying Tape Pro! Today we're planning to submit an update to fix the back and forward preset buttons by making them the same size as the save and delete preset buttons (4x bigger!).
Also might be worth mentioning that we're running a 20% discount on the iOS App Store for the first seven days (from the 30th oct to the 6th Nov).
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask away here or email us at [email protected]
We also have a download link to our manual which gives a more in depth explanation at the bottom of our product page here: https://www.caelumaudio.com/CaelumAudio/?Page=TapePro

🔥🔥🔥🔥 app folks! ☠️👍🏼
@CaelumAudio Outstanding app ! Sharing the link all over the place ✌️
i bought the release version , @CaelumAudio is the preset switching fix already in the beta? i didn’t notice any major pops when using the beta so that’s why i didn’t report it, i do get it a bit in the release which is already due to be fixed!
Yes, same problem here. Also, it’s very difficult/impossible to save a user preset in AUV in the app itself. I think it’s a bug. @CaelumAudio - any upcoming fix for this behavior?
There is definitely a fix for the preset buttons coming, Gabriel the dev mentioned it has been submitted already
We submitted version 1.0.2 to the App Store a couple of hours ago with larger buttons for this. It should be a bit more usable after apple review the update! Please see attached image for a bit of a preview:
Hi, in most cases when changing the presets I would expect it to be somewhat audible as it usually has to change IR response. I will however look at the beta build to see if there is anything going on there.
Could you possibly send a screen recording and a detailed description of your issue to [email protected] please? The app has got loads of customisation so it's important we get preset management right!

Anyone sitting on the fence with this one - the price will go up after the 1st week - it's on a 20% launch discount...
Preset save is working. You have to change the name first, then hit save!
Will do. I just rebooted and I am continuing to have difficulties.
EDIT: I just figured it out - saving a new preset requires touching the actual name window and then editing the name there - a little different from what I am used to.
And “everything in its right place”
Thanks, yea I’m fencing it up over here, Since I just bought a couple apps. I really love TC, TC2, and TC Pro Beta, but I started using the OG, TC again because the Pro beta seemed to eat up a lot of CPU. I Loved the sound, GUI, everything about Pro but I’m wondering how much CPU the Newly released Version is eating up on people’s iPads or iPhones? I try to keep it “light” the majority of the time, maybe this is worth the exception?
@CaelumAudio thank for the phenomenal app. It sounds so great. Hands down my favorite tape app to date. My only issue is a clipping / clicking when i first open the app, or change between IR's. its a VERY loud, sharp click.
Stoked to play with this soon. I think I’ll
Probably stack it and Reelbus for the thickest of tape tones
Wondering how it compares to ReelBus?
Thanks - missed this.
well that’s the hope haha !
Is it just me, or am I the only one who foresees the need for a tape emulation app shoot-out video???
Popping popcorn now...
If someone already has RE-1, K7D, Reelbus, TC and TC2, are they missing out on some magic by not having this?
I’ve used the beta loads and absolutely love it so, I best get it bought!
asking the real questions.
the user interface is gorgeous either way.
The sound i get when i use the micro cassette presets are worth it for me. Both speeds are available 1.2 and 2.4mm/s
Wonderful LoFi bliss.
Did I hear you say something about a @jakoB_haQ comparison video?
