  • I am so sorry for you and your family Jo. My prayers are with you.

  • I'm very sorry to hear that. Best wishes to all of you.

  • Thank you for filling us in Jo. I'm sorry to hear you and your loved ones are struggling. You sound very strong and optimistic, please keep it up! Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

  • Hi from Europe! I'm really sorry to hear what a hard time you and Doug are having. I hope this is all just a memory soon and that Doug is soon back home and back online making lots more really good videos!! xxx

  • My thoughts are with you, Jo! It never rains but it pours, as they say. Stay strong. Even the worst storm ends eventually, followed by a serene calmness. My condolences for your sister and positive vibes and Reiki for you, your brother and Doug. x

  • Jo -- best wishes from me as well, and my condolences on the loss of your sister. I really hope that Doug and your brother improve; this sounds like a very tough time.

  • @thesoundtestroom

Jo - I mentioned Doug's situation in brief over on the iPad Musician FB group and a number of folks not all of whom are represented here on the AB forums but who value Doug's work a great deal send their regards as well with a get well soon. I'm sure more will follow as well.

  • Hi Jo,

Rather than post over at iPad Musicians, I joined this forum with the specific intent to let you know how much I appreciate Doug's videos and more importantly to wish you both well and hope that you see the end of the current dark times soon.

As has been pointed out by others, Doug's videos and the enthusiasm with which he approaches apps are probably a significant factor to the number of apps I own also.
I'd almost go as far to suggest that overall new music app sales will be down 50% because Doug's not reviewing them! :)

All the best to you both!

  • Wow! I'm so sorry to hear this Jo!!! My prayers are with you, Doug, and your family!

  • That is horrible please stay strong. If at all possible do a small kindness just for yourself.

  • Very sorry to hear. I hope for the best for u and doug

  • Thanks for letting us know. Please take very good care of yourself Jo, this seems to be too much for one person, hoping that you are able to draw on the support of others. This will pass and will get easier. Take good care of you. Thanks to yourself and Doug for all that you do

  • Hadn't seen an update on his channel and came here to see what was up. I'm utterly shocked, best wishes for a full recovery. Please also Jo hang in there, can't be easy.

  • All our thoughts are with him Jo. Must be incredibly hard for you too! Sorry to hear about your brother and sister too.

  • Much Love to you both!

  • I am deeply shocked to hear this and wish with all my might that things get better for Doug, Jo and family. I never spoke to the man, but I am a huuuuuge fan of Doug and even my loved ones knew just who i meant when i mentioned how upsetting this is.. because Doug comes into our home so often that we all know his voice :)
I am an admin at the iPad Musician group on Facebook, if there is any way the group can help just let us know.
All of my thoughts go out to Doug, his family, and his recovery. Thank-you for the updates.
Stay strong Doug, we are pulling for you!
    all my best, linda

  • Shocked and having trouble finding the right words!

Keep strong, love to you both!

  • So sorry to hear all this at the same time! And as one who once sent a nurse off in a panic because of 240/170 I have a small amount of insight into the condition too.

When Doug is more recovered, and only if the diagnosis "Essential Hypertension" (my Mayo Clinic doctor said that really means they don't know what is the real cause), a thought might be to check for a Spironolactone hormone deficiency. Sodium and Potassium both in normal range but with a specific co-variation is the symptom. Something not so usual to check for, but cheap and easy to correct with a daily pill. Now I run ~120/75. It took only three days to drop which was a strange experience in itself, since one normally does not feel bp. The silent killer.

  • Sorry to hear about your situation. Life is sometimes too hard on us! Wish all the best to both of you!!

  • Lost for words on this...just simply, all the best wishes to you, Doug and your loved ones!

  • What an awful situation to be in, Jo! I'm lost for words and others here have expressed my feelings far better than I could anyway. Just know that I and my family are holding you and yours close in our thoughts. You'll never walk alone :)

  • So sorry to hear about all that, it really is too much at once. All thoughts and best wishes to you, Doug and your families to see you through this difficult time.

Best wishes from a bunch of us here in Beirut, as well as some Musicians/Filmmakers Syrian refugee's crashing at our (work/home) place, all of whom I recently introduced you and your awfully handy and nice YouTube channel so they can discover or get acquainted better with iOS music tools and sound processing capabilities they can expect / ask for since an iPad got added to the meager set of tools/machines available at the... closest thing to a film/documentary production house we've been able to get.. I just read the news this morning and informed everyone at breakfast; they all responded very strongly and will be remembering you in their daily prayers until you get better. My condolences for the loss of your sister Jo, and best wishes for you brother.. I hope they are taking good care of Doug. Take good care, and stay strong.

  • Hi Jo... please pass on my very best wishes to Doug.... fingers crossed that you get good news soon on all fronts. Best wishes, John

  • Wishing you and your family the best Jo.

  • Thank you for letting us know what's going on, Jo! I noticed he hadn't been doing videos and was worried about him. He produces so many videos, that a whole week without a new one seemed odd!

Please let him know I'm wishing him a speedy recovery!

  • I wish you guys all the best, take care...

  • I'm wishing you all the best!

  • I am so sorry to hear of Doug's hospitalizations and all the issues he and you are facing. I will say a prayer for your family and for Doug's good health. God Bless
