  • I doubt it has anything to do with Brexit. It’s just a combo of past Covid lockdowns that have created backlogs in parts and Christmas madness.

I had the same issue - the 8th gen were projecting delivery in January on the Apple website, and I couldn’t find any on other retail sites in the UK.

There didn’t appear to be any issue with the iPad Air though - I ordered one of them instead.
Projected delivery was 5-7 working days, I ordered on Wednesday and it arrived today (2 days later).

  • Wow, this is crazy. I had to file an apple care claim where I wanted them to replace my old ipad with a new one (as opposed to the standard option they give you online which is to ship it out to them to have it fixed). Ended up calling them instead as I knew the replacement option was in the paperwork when I signed up (it’s the only reason I signed up - never have before). Long story longer - it arrived super quick (I think I actually had it in hand 2 days later). I’m on 2018 iPad Pro 11 inch and live near Vegas.

Makes sense why they removed the option for replacement from their online options now. I thought they were just getting cheap.

I’m sure someone here in the states would work something out with you if you want. I’d be down to order it myself and ship it to you if you want.

You can still buy them from the Apple online store, they deliver in a week or so.

(edit) I believe their warehouse is in Ireland so they won't be affected by the delays at the UK ports.

That’s great news - thanks I’ll check that out 😀

I had a look - it doesn’t seem to be allowing me to access to the checkout.
I would hesitate to buy online anyway - too many scary delivery botch up stories, and some bad experiences myself. I’ve still got two Air 2’s to keep me going in the meantime... so it’s not so bad 🤨

I just tried, the 8th Gen is available for me for delivery in January (I live in Kent). I've always bought from Apple online (several iPads and iPhones) and never had any issue.

Wait what! They normally take a week through the back door from Ireland and they are now quoting sometime in January. This is looking grim methinks.
You’re in Kent you say. What’s the word on the Ports and Harbours down your end?

I don't really know too much about the ports, sorry :)

That’s ok, I hope it stays that way....
