    Update: reboot fixed it

Restart your device as dear old Wim would have said. Ah you did already. Good! :D

Just bought it and it's wonderful as most Klevgrands products!

As Wim ‘would have said’? He’s still of this world, right?

I was thinking the same. Do we need to start a dedication thread?

Sure is, but, he's tired of repeating it what was I meant. Now, what would the correct syntax be Mr.Expressionpolice, so I don't repeat such a serious mistake again? :D :D

    It's pretty.

    Of course, made in Sweden.

  • Nice complement to their Hillman synth.

    Phew! Thanks goodness for that...!

  • Interesting, but I think I'm done buying synths without MPE.

Well if you don't give me that perfect line I will keep doing it wrong so no Phew! before that. Can't read your mind you know. Seriously though, I don't mind being corrected, how else would one learn. So please tell me how I should have expressed that sentence. Thanks.

Yeah, I've even trying to convince klevgrand to look into mpe more, it would be so damn perfect for this

Wow. A Pharlight or Exhale type synth on iOS for the price of a value meal?

    No brainer.

I really like Pipa, but as a happy Exhale user, Pipa doesn’t cover 1% of what Exhale does.

Same for Pharlight...but, they’re kin. All basically synths based on human voice. There will never be anything that compares to Pharlight or Exhale. Not enough juice.

I know. But I do think an Exhale “Lite” would be doable. Don’t forget Phonem (discontinued).

I haven’t had a chance to check out Pipa yet but from the reports of CPU hit, I think it’s as Exhale Lite as we’re going to get for now.lol

Really hope the upcoming IPad Pros are a big boost over current Gen.

Check out the exhale manual. There are a lot of things that I think that could be implemented in today’s hardware, from patterns, to loops, as well as access to waveforms:

You can threaten them with a bad review!!
    😈

  • @Pxlhg I think the present tense is what you are looking for: ‘as Wim would say.’

By using a past tense ( and a conditional one) it implies he is no longer with us.

I’m surprised by how little hype there is around this one. As far as I’m concerned this is the vocal synth for iPad. Phonem would’ve been the other, but that’s sadly no longer available.

I think Klevgrand really hit it out of the park with their apps this year - Skaka, Ting, and Pipa. Very musical and expressive, and generally fill a space that no other apps currently do. I’m excited to see what they’ll make next.

  • Agreed Aleyas - I haven’t used Phonem so can’t compare, but this sounds fabulous, with a great UI, same goes for Skaka and Ting.

  • Yep, agreed. I decided to buy this after the second preset. I had watched the videos already but the sound is immediately useful to me.

I can make evocative stuff with this.

  • Didn’t get the fuss about Ting but I bought Skaka. There’s nothing quite like it.

  • So does this do actual words/lyrics or just la la la etc

Haha, it doesn't even do lalala, it only does vowel sounds, but it does what it does very well

Yeah, that’s the one I didn’t get too. It’s a very nice sample set, and does sound great, but I have tons of found sound samples to play with already.

Ah okay! Thank you, I appreciate that. After he pointed it out I couldn't see what was wrong, English isn't my mother tongue so it's not always easy :D . One would think that when you point fingers you should include an explanation why somethings is wrong. Well, now I know. :D

  • I had a really nice time playing this over some chords last night, but I found that when I was playing with velocity keyboard modulating the dynamics and voice controls I sometimes got clicking sounds - I’m thinking it’s more a result of the CC jumping between values from VKs input than any problem with the synth though... does this experience resonate with anyone else?

The clicking sound is exactly what I discussed in the video - note stealing because the polyphony limit has been breached and new notes are cutting off old notes abruptly. This is why I want klevgrand to give an option for more polyphony

  • @Krupa and others - do please message klevgrand directly to ask for more polyphony if this is an issue for you as they pretty much told me directly they will only increase polyphony if people request it.

I thought it might be that but I wasn’t sure as I was generally only playing one note at a time, maybe crossing two at once, but not chords or anything - I was just looking at a mozaic script on patchstorage that acts as a sort of slew limiter for CCs...

  • Ah ok - maybe it is something else then!

There's nothing intrinsically wrong with it, it's just that it leaves room for interpretation. If you'd have said, 'as Wim might say', that gives us the information to know he's still very much alive and kicking. Sorry to be forced into the role of the Expression Police here, though no doubt someone will pop to say I've got it all wrong!
