So how can you claim (in the other thread)the Fabbies are NOT better than anything else on iOS if you don't own them or even Auria.Funny :)

@ChrisG: thanks for the inside about Pro-L.Also the Pro MB is tempting but i need a good limiter first.

  • I just got the Pro-DS. Already had Saturn, Volcano, Pro-Q and Pro-C. I'm doing a good job of talking myself out of getting Pro-L. With the Auria limiter and Microwarmer I can get my tracks pumped enough. Not really into the volume wars thing and my songs won't be on the radio or anything. I'm sure it is a great plug-in, but I don't think I need it. Timeless 2, on the other hand, I have a few days to talk myself into getting. ;-p

@papertiger - I imagine most people bought Pro-C a while ago, when Pro-MB wasn't available. Now they have both.

  • @Crabman I claimed no such thing.

  • Why doesn't Fabfilter release these as IAA effects or Audiobus effects? I actually do not want Auria but might want a couple of the plugins...

  • @raz - I suspect developing as an Auria plug-in, when Auria has the plug-in framework in place, makes it relatively easy for Fab to port their desktop plugs over. Still, SugarBytes was able to do both, but that probably came down to a business decision based on return on investment.

@Crabman - I don't recall seeing that claim from PaulB. I saw where he had asked for something definitive that could show that Fab was better, as others have claimed.

    Ask FabFilter! ;)

Why do you nerds have both MB and C?!

I still don't know why so many people feel the need for a multiband compressor either, but for this price hard to pass up!

Lol -- that's precisely my "problem"! You know that I don't use compressors, but it would be nice to have one of these to experiment with. Which would you recommend for purposes of exploring the "creative" aspects of compression?

  • C definitely, MB is complicated and tricky to set up to be transparent. Not in a bad way, it just has way more options.

  • Should I go whole hog and scoop up all 10 of these? Price is making it quite ripe for the picking.

the pc/Mac version are 40% off as well. Also have a 30 day trial.

  • Had to bite on this one. The Timeless plug-in is a beauty...this is gonna force me to alter my workflow a bit to add Auria into the party.

  • Just dropped my coins on Pro-MB, Pro-Q, Saturn, Timeless2, and Volcano2. The other 5 are still calling me, especially Pro-G. Dangerously good sale.

This is insanely tempting as well. I almost bought one of the bundles during the holiday sale in 2013! Would be great to have Saturn, TL2, and V2 on Mac AND ipad for full-ish studio mirroring!

Thanks, Tarekith. I always appreciate your advice.

  • Considering either the limiter or the multiband comp. Thinking a combo of Pro-MB and Auria's limiter will work well enough on the 2 bus.

Pro G, Pro C (though may be redundant in light of you now owning pro mb - have no idea as I haven't taken the plunge on pro mb yet), Pro Q, and Pro L are all getting a lot of use on almost every track I make. Everything that's been said good about Pro L could be said about any of those others imo. They're all best of breed, and I don't think you'll find anything else like them on iOS.

I do love Saturn and Timeless as well. They're not something I consider a necessity like I do the others I mentioned though. Still, they're awesome. Don't get me wrong. I've just developed dependencies on the others.

  • Hmm, then again Final Touch is about the same price as Pro-MB with considerably more features. Could only run one instance of it though. I don't think my iPad3 could run more than one instance of Pro-MB either!

  • Just tried out Saturn for a couple of hours of guitar heaven. Jaw dropping. Suspect Ampkit, Bias, Flying Haggis will gather dust.

  • Thanks @boone51 ... you made me do it, jumped on G and L now too. Just those last 3 micro, C, and DS nagging me now.

  • Tempted by the sale, but what advantages do these give me over Final Touch and Mastering?

    Automation

  • @thinds, a lot of my questions regarding that we're addressed by @ChrisG over on this thread previously. If you scroll toward the bottom of this page you'll see where I asked pretty much the same question.

    Hope this helps.

I can't imagine that you'll be disappointed with either of those. The pre+post graphic spectrum analysis is hard to beat when dealing with the gate, the limiter, the compressor, Q etc. Enjoy.

  • Yeah, just took a third dip so now the only FabFilter plug I have left out is DS. I don't do much of anything with vocals, so I don't have any use for that... right? lol

    Most. Expensive. App Day. Ever.

  • Couldn't resist and got the L. That is seriously impressive! How the hell does that work?

  • I know, right? I think I could say that about every ff I own. Last night I broke down and got Pro-MB. I was expecting to be disappointed since I already have pro-C, pro-Q, etc. boy was I wrong. Yes, it's a multi band compressor/expander. What I didn't really get was that it can be laser like focused on a very specific band and you can leave the rest of the mix alone. If you've watched the videos you're saying, "well, yes, that's exactly what the video says", but honestly I just didn't get it until I used it. It's magic.

  • okay, okay. So,i guess that means i have to get Pro L AND Pro MB.Dang.

How about the CPU usage of Pro-L compared to the other FFs?

  • I dont want to smash the party, but ...

    Do u guys enjoy this?
This old desktop concept of taperecorders?
It bores the hell out of me.

I want stuff to be alive, spontaneous and kicking.
