Looks cool; can the notes in a chord be of different lengths and subdivisions like StepPolyArp?
This is AMAZING. One question: The MIDI channel settings have 22 octave (or scale repeat) options, when only 4 octaves are displayed in the grid at one time as standard. What's that about? How would one utilise all these 22 scale repeats? Is it by creating some crazy custom scale? If so, what?
I want to say thanks to @YuriT for making this universal and not a separate iPad version as per his original intention. Well done on the fantastic update.
This application goes in my always use, must have category along with ThumbJam, and Sound Prism Pro.
Thanks everyone!
@WMWM, I'm amazed, thank you. I haven't thought of this, don't think I know the way to do this yet.
@supadom, pink? Is this for real?
@Michael_R_Grant, this is the theoretical limit conditioned by the way Xynthesizr allows you to create scales. Obviously there's only 10 octave audible to humans and a little more than that can be triggered with MIDI, but theoretically you set up a scale with only one note and a narrow repeat interval, which will yield all 22 options. But practically this is not of much use
This was already good, now extremely good. Very touch friendly and playable without trying to emulate anything. The generative function is extensive. Just a great little app.
@Jomazz, I don't know if it's like StepPolyArp, but yes, notes can be of different lengths. What it has is an option to tie consecutive notes of same pitch together, so that they are treated as one long note.
Thanks YuriT,I went ahead and got it! Very cool app with a great touch interface! I havn't had time to get into it much but what I've seen so far is awesome!
I managed to get Xynthesiser to send start stop to DM1 last night. Only seemed to work with virtual midi. Shame it doesn't save the scene yet in Audiobus.
@Jomazz, @smeeeth, thanks!
@KlaatuNinja, Audiobus 2.0 SDK is not available yet for all developers, only a select group.
Sebastian, get the SDK to Yuri as soon as possible!
Awesome update and thanks do much for the ipad version as an update !
That's indeed a bonus....all we now need is a Randmozier for everything and it bam!
@thepinkelefant, thanks!
I want a Randmozier... with gold trim...
Isn't the Conway element a randomizing function in itself?
No it's rule based.
There can be randomization added to the sequences though.
Hey Yuri- is there anyway to share presets? I have some on my phone I'd like to move over to my iPad.
Can I lock the tempo so it stays the same when switching patches or do I need to save each patch at the desired tempo first?
Tempo lock would indeed be cool/useful.
@YuriT. I just bougth your app and i love it, the price is right, even is cheap, but you app is awesomee, i have with your app like 15 min and im using DM1, animoog all in AB and is really great, now im trying to figure out how to add another synth. You can add IAP for other midi features and i will buy it.
love this app so much
@YuriT a paypal button on your website would work for me. I do believe you deserve compensated for making this universal when you were in prime position to charge again. I was the voice of discontent, now, I am content and ready to pay for what I received. I'll check your website in a week or so.
Here's a quick sketch I made with xynth yesterday. For those who are still on the fence.
As much as we all love the update, an idea occurred to me. I've always kind of been on the lookout for an app that could be like a universal "piano roll" controller similar to what Cubasis/Gadget/NanoStudio have within their ecosystem, or how Thesys works.
But since Xynthesizr has a "chromatic" scale option (displaying all of one octave and 10/12 of a second octave, I basically already have that! A piano roll and chord sequencer in one for any Virtual MIDI-compatable app. This app is so simple and beautiful that I think people (including me) miss how powerful it is.

These are some of the main reasons why Xynthesizr is an epic win for me, and is really the only MIDI sequencer I go back to on a regular basis. It's VERY easy, and pleasant, to work with. It's nearly everything I've always envisioned a MIDI sequencer on iOS should be.
@supadom nice track kind of kraftwerk stuff.
@YuriT
I have a request for the developer Xynthesizr as i said is really really cool, and i will like to see the possibilitty to change the Key and Transposition for every color indepent.
I will pay for it!!
Cheers @Aphex can't take the credit...the tunes just write themselves on this machine!
I kind of also have a little request but I'm wary to ask as you've done so much amazing work already @YuriT How about a mute function for every colour by swiping 3 fingers up or something like that? It would allow to have patterns that come in and out. This of course can be worked around by turning off synths controlled by xynth but not with the internal engine. While I'm on the roll I have another reasonably simple suggestion. Could internal engine also be part of the midi channel toggle? Like 1-16 and then internal. This way one could have xynth's engine playing on one channel only while controlling external synths on others? At present it is kind of all or nothing which is a pity as the internal synth can sound real wicked albeit probably not ideal for punchy basses etc. I think I'm gonna head over to Yuri's website to show some appreciation.
Edit. Still no donate via paypal button.
Thanks everyone for your interest!
@Zymos, sorry, there is no such way yet.
@Tritonman2, @syrupcode, good point about the tempo lock, thanks!
@WMWM, I have previously read that there are some problems with receiving donations via PayPal in my country. Need to check that when I have some time...
@Aphex, @supadom, these are some interesting suggestions, gotta think about them too...
Apologies @YuriT just accidently discovered mute/unmute with 2 and 3 fingers. Cool. The other idea about adding internal synth to midi out channel selector is a good one though
@supadom, well, 2 and 3 finger-taps are not exactly mute/unmute, it's clear/undo, so you only can use it on one octave/color or all at the same time. I think your idea is still valid.
