Wow.
I found that StrummerFx had some very nice steel guitar sounds (among others), in addition to other functionality like sequencers, etc. Same for DigiStix but for drums. Randomization options too for the latter (can't remember if Strummer has them). I'm also happy with NuRack. Lots of effects and utilities for the price with the ability to route them.
I ended up getting the iAP to unlock Mynth and Mellowsound
Both are worth it. Gotta make good used of what I have before buying new stuff now
Mellowsound and Super Manetron are my favorite mellotron combo.

They sound nice to me but I nade a short demo vid of some of the kits so you can hear and decide. (I had to poke around si the sounds start 30 seconds in)
How many people here who’ve purchased drumming apps have never looked into the selection of drum options available in iOS GarageBand? There are a LOT of choices you may have forgotten about or overlooked.
I guess we all have...
GarageBand should allow us to at least tune the drum-samples and maybe even add an optional empty kit we could populate with our own samples. The underlying architecture is already in place (It uses Logic's Drum Machine Designer which in turn uses Quick Sampler, a few classic Ultra Beat engines and some of the new Drum Synths).
One 'thing' that annoys me a bit is that each drum kit has 16+ sounds but only 12 pads for playback and in order to access the additional sounds one needs to dive into the midi-editor or use the Beat Sequencer.
The Beat Sequencer is also limited in the way that you can not select the sounds from other kits (again something that is easy to do in Logic's Drum Machine Designer). So yeah, I do hope Apple steps up the GarageBand Game at some point...
Those are each excellent points. Nothing is perfect, but you are right that more could be done.
Having said that, the quality of sounds available in GarageBand is still pretty hard to beat.

The 'Brushed' drums that recently dropped for iOS GarageBand have been available in Logic Pro for a long, long time
Most other 'packs' that drop are built with Logic Pro so at some point I hope the tools to create the sound packs for iOS GarageBand become available for all Logic users...
