True, I think I also never figured out KB-1 completely. But anyway his apps are absolutely great and usually the UI is designed so good that I never needed a manual. My favorites are ShockWave Synth, FD-1 Filter Delay and RE-1 Tape Machine. ShockWave is one of my top 5 synths.

Yeah, if it’s complicated , it’s the opposite of what I want. Appreciate the heads up. I’ll stick to Xequence for keys and Tonality or ChordPolyPad for chords. They work ok. I was just hoping to find something that laid out chords and inversions of those chords within a scale in an easily accessible way with small buttons so they’re all visible. Both Tonality and ChordPolyPad require some setup in that regard and have larger pads, but it’s not a huge deal.

Anyone else having problems using the @4Pockets Strummer FX app as an AUv3 in GarageBand (or any other DAW) after the latest iOS update? It refuses to stay active in the app and continually demands to be reloaded. Very annoying. I blame iOS, but it’s the developer’s burden to adapt to these inconveniences.

I do like the unique sounds one can tease out of Shockwave and Agonizer.
Shockwave is quite interesting for a Monophonic synth it doesn’t sound or feel monophonic.
Same with Agonizer.

Shockwave is a lead synth, and it is very very good for that one task. It sounds like no other and cuts through anything.

You can easily do what @Lil_Stu07 mentioned above, However once you listen to the sounds it makes ( see YouTube video) that’s what convinced me awhile back. It might only play polyphonically but there’s so many deep, dark, buzzy Modulated tones going on it doesn’t sound monophonic, if that makes sense. Lol. It’s a good app, patch random, even does Atmospheric type soundscapes, which tells you everything right there. Best for Bass, lead, and even dark droning atmosphere. It’s not my go to but it pops out for a cameo now and then. Lol.
I gotta say it is hard to get a read on Kai Aras' apps here. During the last sale there were a few people who said KB-1 was a game changer for them. There was also thread about ShockWave not having a manual, and the prevailing sentiment seemed to be it was difficult to figure out.
In terms of shockwave… I don’t think it was difficult to figure out but it’s not laid out like a typical synth and doesn’t have all the typical synth knobs. Some have different names, but do something you know. If I have to get blatant, It’s not an absolute must have synth but it is a unique mono synth, with good sound. It definitely fits with some music genres better then others. I’m not privy to all the subdivisions but it’s best for dance electronic house techno, etc… so depending on what you create some might like it more then others.
I didn’t know that about kB-1 I don’t have that one.

With regards to "the prevailing sentiment", I think it is a mistake to treat the conversations on AB forum as being reasonably representative....the conversation you referenced was dominated by a few people. If you had searched more widely, you would have found many that love the synth and dont find it unfathomable.
