    So, I propose the following plan:

    • I will make a short intro video on each device explaining how to use it
    • I will make a setup tutorial explaining how to make all the connections required
    • I will make a AUM session template with all connections setup but no 3rd party apps except Mozaic so it will be usable if you have AUM and Mozaic without having to do setup
    • I will make the it available to the community in some kind of demo/beta/tryb4buy/donationware format so people can see if it is useful.

    I hope to complete the above over the next week.

    I like it but think it’s going to take sometime to get used to it

    Lol. Congratulations! I actually did get an original copy but thank you. I can see this being very useful after just getting started with Ruismaker, just like in the video tutorials, it’s honestly quite brilliant. It is something that will take some time to get my head around, because of everything going on. Thanks for putting out the tutorials and documentation as well, I believe I’d be quite lost without that info. I’m going have to watch all your tutorials and take the time to unpack this monster. It uses and connects like 10-11 instances of Mozaic in AUM to make up this amazing monster midi groove box type thing. Each instance is a different part of basically everything you need in a session, all your synth sequencing, drum sequencing, automation, it generates notes, Etc... on and on. Regardless of what happens with this patch, you’ve achieved something pretty special just by creating it. I believe this patch will make @brambos quite proud. Well done.

  • I do not have Ruinsmaker for drums but I do have Digisticks and Drum computer. How do I config Digisticks to work properly, right now I get a snare firing instead of a bass drum. Irealise that the sanre is possible one note above the bass. It is a shame that you only have choice of Chromatic, Ruinsmaker, or kit. I presume I should use kick in this instance. Any help would be cool, thanks.

  • @Toastedghost Three ways you can do it. When choosing a note set there are 3 options.

    1. In chromatic mode BEATS can send any note per step.
      Go to the edit page
      Change Knob2 to Note
      Use Knob3 to set the desired note for that step
      Use the <> knob if you want to change the note for all steps. Hold the knob right or left until notes start changing. Bring it back to centre when done.

    2. In FIXED mode (where you see Ruismaker) you can turn another knob to change the FIXED mapping. There is a mapping for Drum Computer but not Digistix. Keep in mind the Drum Computer can set its own mapping. I used C, F#, C, F#, C, F#, C, F# so you will need to setup your Drum Computer to receive the same.

    3. In KIT mode you can configure a single note to be sent on each channel. So choose the note you need for CH's1-4 Kick, Snare, Hat, Perc etc.

  • @Carnbot yes you can but its not only the routing to the instruments. You need to route MIDI from KNTRL to AUTOM on CH16.
    Make sure you hit update scenes in KNTRL so your new instance has scene info. With no scenes setup in AUTOM it does nothing.

    I am looking to do the same.... sorry have not tried it yet, but the multiple of AUTOM need to be on ch16... when routing from KNTRL.... will this cause issues?

  • @onerez KNTRL sends midi to all the QK devices on CH16 to sync the scenes. Without this AUTOM wont be in sync with the other devices.

    @Carnbot AUTOM sends midi CC. To trigger clips maybe you need notes? If so, then maybe use BEATS or NOTES for that.

    And yes BEATS/NOTES would work too, but I find with AUTOM it's already set up to be easy to change the labels to Clip and scenes names etc so can make a nicely editable clip sequencer. :)

  • After I watched the first couple videos I must admit the word Masterpiece, crossed my mind. Then I started thinking I bet this took 8-10 months of work, and not much later in the video he says it took 7 months. This is something quite special @soundtemple Still digging in. Thank you.

    I agree also GR16 Drambo and Eg Pulse. Also to be able to use some Rozeta sequencers.

  • @Poppadocrock Thanks. Living in Melbourne we were subject to a 5 month COVID lockdown during 2020. Curfews, limited contact with others, no restaurants, bars etc. I think it became my COVID crutch. I found myself waking super early and doing 2-3hrs before work and bigger sessions on the weekends.

    I dont own those other drum machines. By mapping do you mean a midi mapping in KNTRL or the noteset mapping in BEATS or both?

    If you send me the notes you want for the Noteset mapping in BEATS I can probably add those easily enough.

    For the midi mappings, you can make them yourself in KNTRL.
    1. Turn <= EDIT => mode ON for ALL CHANNELS
    2. Pick an instrument channel and set the Layout to FREE
    3. Turn <= EDIT => mode OFF for ALL CHANNELS
    4. Unlock INST LAYOUTS (so padlock is gone)
    5. Go into that channel and on the 4 pages you can tap a pad to select
    6. Tapping again toggles between [CC val, min, max] and [label, color, page]
    7. Make your mapping by setting labels* and CC's and colors for each pad
    8. Then you can save the Mozaic Preset using Mozaic's save button
    9. Lock INST LAYOUTS again so you dont accidentally stuff your mapping up while you use it.

    OR.... If you are feeling adventurous. Hit shift to go back to settings and hit LOG PRESET
    1. Hit Mozaic LOG buttons to see the preset code printed
    2. Search for the name of a template you dont need eg Redshrike
    3. Change Redshrike text to "Your Preset Name"
    4. Paste the code that got printed in the Log

    It looks something like this....

    There is a 3000 line limit in Mozaic scripts and all the scripts pretty much max out the line limit and funciton limit, so there is serious limitations to adding extra stuff.

    If you are planning on editing the code I would recommend getting a text editor eg: Textastic and installing @_ki's language support
