Find a dev who makes beautiful interfaces that are a joy to work with, as this looks like something that could maybe become a very important part of many people's AUM workflow

I am hoping that this will find its way into your library of amazing tutorials. I wait with fingers crossed.

  • @soundtemple yea I was referring to beats mostly, you have a good 5 or 6 good drum apps in there, I just thought Digistix was the only one really missing from the group, and an app I use a lot.

I guess both would be cool, but again I was mainly talking about the note set in beats.

Awesome I’ll dm you the midi mapping notes for Digistix. Cheers!

It hasn’t been as strict here in the US but iOS Music has been a big help for me in many ways, even just in the simplest terms of having something to do...

  • @soundtemple just bought a copy from the third batch. Just hope to be able to learn it 😂😂😂 great job.

  • @Charlesalbert Good luck! It is an undertaking!! I'd try the video tutorials. Hopefully I dont put you to sleep!

  • Of course I am interested in this - at the moment I already have a looooottttt on my plate, maybe at some point down the road though, it does look very, very good.

  • It is indeed a great collection of scripts and rewards digging in :)

@soundtemple I occasionally get some problems with switching panels not working, for example like this below, on the settings panel but it's showing the steps instead, pressing the shift momentarily shows the correct page and then switches back to the wrong page. I can only reload the session to correct this when this happens. Perhaps this is a Mozaic glitch?

So impressed with this - just bought the full version. Very happy to support ongoing development and looking forward to the template library...cheers...👍

  • @Carnbot This might happen if KNTRL or BEATS has a scene duration of 0. So check that first. Also, make sure you arent sending midi from other places into KNTRL or BEATS.

KNTRL sends messages for various things to BEATS, NOTES, KORDS etc. For example when there is a scene change.

In some of these messages it also instructs the device to exit settings or exit settings and go to the scenes view etc

So, first thing to try next time it happens is disable KNTRL temporarily by swiping right on its icon. That will stop it sending midi messages. If that stops the problem we know its a KNTRL message causing it. If you think it is a bug, the included in the session template is another Mozaic device called M-SPY. If you route midi from KNTRL into M-SPY and press the log button you will be able to see which midi messages are being sent from KNTRL. You could copy/paste that data here and I will take a look.

  • @enkaytee Thanks! The template library is a laborious work in progress. Essentially it is some AUM sessions containing channels with pre-mapped instruments.

Each channel has up to 90 parameters mapped and in some I duplicate this across up to 8 channels.

The net benefit is that when building your songs, you can import single channels from the template library to your song session and have all the midi mapping done. All you need to do is configure the midi routing and set up the correct template in KNTRL. From there you should be able to control all the mixer params and up to 64 instrument parameters with a 4 knobs on your midi controller.

  • If anyone has a Launchpad mini or Midi Fighter Twister or both and is interested in trying the midi mappings I made for them to control QK. PM me and I will send them to you.

  • Sorry if this is covered in your videos @soundtemple but why only 4 drum sounds? Is it possible to get 8 drum sounds in beats?

  • @Outtram BEATS has 4 independent channels per instance. So, an instance is limited to 4 sounds at once.

Each step can send any note.

You could trigger 64 different sounds in 1 bar if you really wanted to. If thats not enough then you can use another instance.

Generally I use one instance as follows.
    CH1: Kick or Lo Tom
    CH2 Snare or Clap
    CH3: Hat1 or Hat2
    CH4: Perc1 or Perc2

Another use case If you have Drum Computer is to use BEATS to trigger patterns on 1 channel instead of sounds. On the other three channels you can trigger stuff for example in SKAKA, SEGMENTS and TING.

Because you can send any note per step each channel (on any step) can trigger any of the 12 loops slots in SKAKA, any of the 12 sounds in TING and any slice in a SEGMENTS preset. For the Drum Computer / SKAKA channels you can change the step rate to 1bar so each step will play a 1 bar loop from SKAKA or select a different pattern in Drum Computer.

There is a 30min video on making beats with.... BEATS :-)
