Does it support Spotify web-player?
Well, maybe youtube can work in the background now if it’s opened in browser via this app
Hmmm, I jumped on this but I’m running into a number of issues. Like the other web players, it routes straight to output and can’t be recorded, routed, or effect processed. It also only plays while the AU is open. I don’t know what the transport at the bottom is supposed to do, but play doesn’t do anything, and the rewind button and timeline scroll cause a crash 100% of the time when you touch them.
@Blue_Mangoo any thoughts?
[Edit] Some of my issues were just due to the specific type of site I was trying to use (WebSDR feeds). SoundCloud, listed as supported, does function as expected.
Hey, did you play video?
I’m always concerned that apps like this will get pulled due to copyright. I wonder how long soundcloud will work ?
Nope, I was trying a web SDR feed. The crashes I mentioned happen even on the default website, with nothing playing.
Sweet!
Connected to Soundcloud and can apply effects and record. Haven't tried the transport buttons but will play in the background if you have the AUM transport road running...
That’s a shame, as it was the immediate use case that came to my mind...
Works with bandcamp but not with a “online synth” for example. It seems that it works if you have a player (soundcloud, bandcamp, radios, etc)
Works well with some online samples libraries, for example
https://freesound.org/
Yes - a bit limited and no guarantee it'll work on any given Web page. @Blue_Mangoo - Would be useful if there was a bit more info on what it will or won't work with...
Yeah, looks like WebSDR feeds don't work well. I tried SoundCloud and it works in the background and audio is routed as expected, meaning you can add effects, too. In SoundCloud, the transport (buffer) controls in Web Audio Player work, but the crash when things aren't playing is global.
@Blue_Mangoo Bought it but the AU don’t show in AUM... reboot, deleted and reinstalled... nothing... iPad Pro 10.5” iOS 13.7
Installed in my son iPad 6th gen and s@me problem, (AU not installed)
How does this compare with BeepStreet's Radio Unit? Radio Unit works well, but you need the actual stream URL, not just the web page link. This sometimes takes a little digging.
Well, I think it is better because you can have improved browser experience, as for example here (http://radio.garden/listen/airport-scanner-rjtt-tokyo-int-app-dep/ZqVHK_rW)
Do state saving and presets work? That’s something that Radio Unit is lacking at the moment
If I can not process or record, I see no use for this.
YMMV.
I understand where you are coming from, but Tube still lives.
Records output??
@Liquidmantis @cuscolima
We don’t know all the places it does and doesn’t work yet. It’s a new thing we are trying. Our plan was to release it to customers and watch this forum to see what sites they can’t access and then try to add support for them if we can.
@reasOne
It can process and record.
No it doesn’t have that. We will look into to adding it.
It seems to have a problem with iOS 13.7. We will look into it on Monday
Thank you!
I’ll add my request to make WebSDR work as well
I suspect it won’t work with sites that don’t have an audio player
I have added that request to the list
Thanks for reporting this. We will look into it and hopefully fix it. (Or at the very least stop the crashing and add webSDR to the unsupported list, but hopefully we will find a better solution)
Thank you, sir! And thanks for filling this much desired need!
Great - I'll keep testing and post here...
