The biggest"issue"i have with turnado is that i can not record knob movements (or swiping arround in one of the four"corners"and record it).I was a bit disappointed cause it takes a lot away of what i thought turnado can do.Or do i simply miss something?effectrix seems more of my cup of tea then,so i'll grab it while it's on sale.

I was really expecting you to jump on WOW, Storm. One day you likely will.. I think it would suit you well. But Turnado is a hefty load of effects power... Just have to wrangle into what you want it to do for your purposes.

I did :) After giving a Turnado a run and being pleasantly surprised at how it ran in AudioBus at 256 frames on my iPad2, I had enough confidence to also grab WOW at the sale price.

My concern about both of these is that it leads to a lot of turning knobs and fiddling around instead of playing the instrument(s) and getting better. But they are powerful tools that had some need audio effects, and there are tons and tons of presets to suggest cool effects.

@Crabman - I understand what you're saying - but I think it depends on the effect. It's kind of like the difference between a wah pedal and auto-wah on guitar, only the latter is designed to operate itself. Some effects in Turnado, like a delay/stutter effect or a reverb, work just fine even if you set it up and leave the program. Others, like a filter sweep, probably require you to control it in Turnado, which means you can't also be playing it.

I'm a total noob with these apps, but I suspect with something like a drum loop, you could obviously mess with the parameters while playing the loop live and recording. Another option is to lay down a "dry" or "clean" track of synth, guitar, whatever...and then get that as a recorded playback in the "input" slot. That could be the internal recorder on your synth, or it could be a recorded wav file and you then use either a DAW or AudioShare in the INPUT slot, with your destination recorder/DAW in the OUTPUT slot, and Turnado/WOW monitoring in EFFECTS. Come to think of it, AudioShare would great for this purpose - lay down the raw track in the recorder, and then play it back there to monitor in post with effects.
