The ribbon idea is really well done, reminiscent of Elektron’s Octatrack and more recently morphs/scenes in Beepstreet’s brilliant Drambo. However, does Blackhole really give you anymore than Yuri Turov’s Velvet Machine?

Does a strat give you more than a Tele?

Never in a million years. Plus they’re so ugly.

    Sir, I demand fisticuffs.

Bring it. Bring your Strat, too, we’ll just jam instead. You can borrow some effects to hide that inferior tone.

    Telecasters rule all

I’m about to add a Tele to my collection. I’m just trying to decide between the Texas Tea and the Arctic Pearl finish... (well, and waiting on stock, too.)

Right on. Are you talkin the Ultra version Arctic Pearl with the white pickguard? That thing looks so cherry, especially with that contoured body. I decided over Christmas between that and the Parallel Universe Tele Magico, and went with the latter. One of the best-looking guitars I’ve ever seen. As someone who’s lived on cheap guitars his whole life, turned out to be well worth the money. Total dream.

And if you are talkin buying new, yeah their shipments were all messed up over the holidays with all kinds of delays.

Yep, I'm lusting for an Ultra.

Ooo! Congratz on the Magico! That's very sweet. I hear you on the cheap guitar switch. I used to buy inexpensive guitars and "hot rod" them by putting in custom pickups, switching options, and better tuners, but it still doesn't compare to a guitar that started life as a higher-end model. The upfront cost hurts a bit but the better fit and finish is a joy every time you play.

I sold a hot-rodded Squier Tele some time ago to "make a hole" for a new MIA Tele. If I had a regular SS Tele in the stable I'd be tempted by that Magico.
