Have you got all bundles ?

  • Iv got geoshred iaa. Will see how it is because it might be cool with the additional blueboard. Maybe geoshred can be edited so theres only blocks for the available notes and not blanks.

  • The good thing about bigger seaboards was zones.

I have all the bundles, yup. And sure you can edit geoshred so that it only has keys in the scale you want, yes

  • Winners: Galvin Klatt and Florian Rachor
    Congrats!

By the way, some good news: Pt 2 vid, which is coming tomorrow, will have 4 codes to give away, Pt 3 which will drop a few days later will have another 4 codes!

And good news for @McD (or was it @LinearLineman ?) I remember one of you was eagerly awaiting a vid on the French horns, so I made a point of making the Part 2 vid on the horns and tubas. The Part 3 vid will be on the trombones and will follow in a few days.

The Pt 2 vid will have quite a few examples of these apps applied to ‘iOS musicians fave genre’, ambient / experimental btw 😜

  • Nice stuff mister Gav, looking forward to hearing the bass trombone and comparing it to the bass tuba once all three are out, and it looks like another lunch break premiere tomorrow 👍👍

  • Thnx Chris - I might try to make the premiere for the 3rd video in the morning my time , evening US time, so a few of our US brethren get an easier chance to participate next time.

    Thanks Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr. Cheers Gav.

  • They are great apps, that’s for sure. I got all the bundles because of my buy all syndrome, but in real day usage, inside AUM, how do you used them guys, since we don’t have a midi MPE sequencer (I know photon AU but I was never able to use it). How to you record your loops with expression and get them synced with the other parts ?

I know inside cubasis you can record midi mpe but I hate working inside cubasis.

You record loops there and then import them inside AUM file player?

Enso? L7 Looper? Gauss (impossible to sync by my side).

    Please share your wisdom😁

  • It took me a little while to understand why these apps/sounds are priced the way they are. But after a little deeper look in, this technology does offer a cut above.

Gavinski, I really appreciated your video, you give the apps room to breathe and these is really helpful for when it's a pricier app.

I also saw this app post by doctor mix from a while ago now. -- he's using it on Mac os and had a breath controller on the go. I've often seen options for breath controller within various apps on iOS but never used one.

Does anyone have experience with these on ios?I suppose it would be a usb connection??

I have the Akai EWI. It works on ios with the CCK.

Yeah, I've just even sticking with Gauss for unsynced audio loops and doing ambient stuff. Do u remember someone saying before that Xequence 2 can do mpe midi recording but you need some kind of workaround? I must look into Photon, I haven't used it in a while as previously I mainly used it for recording Piano Loops, but stopped when it became clear it had problems recording sustain pedal CCs.

This reminds me - will the new Atom Piano Roll be MPE?

You could use any of those audio loppers Charles, you could also use 4Pockets multitrack recorder.

Yeah, people who are watching YouTube iOS music vids to be entertained may have limited tolerance for detailed comparison of how these sound at various ranges in comparison to each other. But for anyone deciding whether to buy a bundle or whether they really need a C trumpet and a Bb trumpet etc, I think these vids will be very useful.

  • Here is an example of playing SWAM trumpet using Geoshred (with mixbox effects)..
Hope it will give some idea on expressiviry and sound...

  • Nice one sujoy!

I looked Amazon for this instrument, is this that electro-looking flow type one?

Something smaller like DrMix has in his video would be what I'm after.

I'd only want this for experimentation really, not something I want to invest £300 in.

    Looks nice though.

  • Bought the trumpet and fluegelhorn, both amazing sounding instruments!
These SWAM instruments are not meant for the synth electronic music mass market, but for individual wind controller players who own an AKAI EWI, a Roland Aerophone or similar controllers, and who are looking for the best possible modeling using only an iPad, not a laptop. So the pricing is actually cheap when compared to laptop sound libraries ....
**The instrument modeling is FAR superior to any built-in wind controller sounds and much more adjustable, **even if the advanced controls are missing from the mobile app ...

True, these are a niche concern, but very nicely done. I wonder if/when these IAPs to unlock advanced features will see the light of day, and curious what the pricing will be like.

I've used some SWAM Trumpet in the background of this Bitwig track if anyone is interested hearing it in some housish? music. It's the second gold coloured track if you want to skip forward.

    Double post

  • Lovely track there... You put this one together?

Nice! That's why I don't understand why there hasn't been more interest in these instruments here on the forum. Whether u are making pop, house, techno, idm, ambient, hip hop, experimental, whatever, you can definitely get great use out of these.

Thank you! Yes they are perfect for this sort of thing. If you spend some time with the automation, which is easy in Bitwig, you can really get them sounding authentic.

Yeah I like that. Your vocal?

Thanks :-) The vocal sample is from the radio, then manipulated. Not sure on the possible copyright issues.... :#

  • Haven't found a good solution for adding double and triple tongue articulation effects in this thing. Which is a major part of brass. In fact, Swam programs in general are notorious for ignoring the re-strike feature on my Linnstrument
