Interesting but pretty damn limited use case. Looks like another dud like Classic FX. I do like the Soviet looks of his apps though. And don't get me wrong, I love the guy for Sound/Fieldscaper; the former is probably my most used non-synth "music" app ever. I got so much enjoyment and coolness out of it.

You're probably totally right - but I mean who cares. Russian iOS developers are a breed apart. They just keep doing their thing, whatever that thing is supposed to be, and we marvel at it.

When I see a video of something new from them, I usually don't have the first idea what the plan even was 😁

  • A sound designers dream (again). Igor pulls another one out of the bag. Can’t wait for this one.

  • Might be too early to disregard this app, @oat_phipps

Looks like this will fit well in the process

  • the reason all his apps are on sale right now is in anticipation of his new release Beatcutter.

  • FYI: All of Igor's 'scaper apps work reasonably well on M1 Macs :)

That’s great - I know I have some balance on my account, so I’ll definitely buy this.

I was just considering Classix FX, but you have caused me to keep my money in my pocket (most rare :)). A dud?

Unneeded unless you are unhappy with your current chorus, flange, rotary, or delay effects. Even then, I wouldn't recommend it because the sound quality is not there vs. your FACs and your Eventides and all. The morphing is nothing to write home about as even at full wet levels the effects are on the very subtle side, and it never got a fix to allow for a slower LFO to do the morphing (meaning it’s not good for gradual shifts, I think 4 bars is tops)

Unfortunately on this you are right. Never used it. Sounds bad, despite the hype I had

  • it seems that friday will be here:
    https://motion-soundscape.blogspot.com/

  • Ah right - it’s aimed at the ambient drone type area - I was thinking it would be a bit like egoist or Sector etc

I guess we will have to see how it works but based on the UI it looks like it could still be used for sector like stuff?

    Appreciate your straightforwardness.

In other news; just dug out Sector again. Quite good :)

It works off the source material + any internal fx processing. Feed it beats and you’ll get beats out, feed it drones and you’ll get drones. The fun comes when you mix different kinds of inputs. I can’t say too much, but if I could give it another name, I think BeatMasher would also be appropriate. More details soon with release imminent (according to dev’s blog)

Iso;l buy this on Friday. Igor is a genius but classic FX was a disappointment for me.

  • I was never interested in getting Classic fx since I already have enough of that, but this does look much more useful for me. :)

  • Bring on the limited use case!

Yeah - I was just going with the ‘experimental, abstract & soundscape’ from the blurb. I’m looking forward to finding out though. It looks like quite a handful.

Ha! Assuming that you can tell what this thing will do just based upon his UI. You're so funny...

I like his software a lot (even the last one, which improved significantly after the update), but his User Interfaces are super cryptic...

There's cryptic in the sense of being genius and cryptic in the sense of being poorly designed in terms of UI / UX. With deep apps, only those who truly put in the time can speak with authority on this. Even then, it's a very fine line in many cases. I'm speaking here not specifically of Igor's apps but of many apps that people find hard to master. Let's see how this one plays out....

Did u watch my last video on classic fx @oat_phipps . This thing can be monstrous and far from being too subtle. The key is in the envelope follower, which is dialed in far too conservatively for my taste in the factory presets. I think Classic FX turned out great, though only after a few updates. The initial release was not all that.

As I said, I like his apps and I've mostly mastered them (does anyone truly master SoundScaper?), but I dare anyone to look at any of his UIs cold and predict what kind of stuff you will get out of them.

Incidentally his apps are currently on sale. I recommend all of them (even ClassicFX), so long as you're willing to put the time in. Though I wish more of them were AUV3.

I call them "crazy but good crazy" , but you have put it much more eloquently.

And you are not funny, or even mildly amusing. This was not an assumption ‘just based on the UI’ it was a direct quote from the Instagram page. Did you see the quotation marks? do you know what blurb means?

I’m gonna admit I gave up on it after the first update, and didn’t get deeper than a couple hours of fiddling, so I’ll revisit it and your video.
