New IAP
I love it. It's always nice to use a fretboard again, having started out as a guitar player. And it's easy to tap like a beast on GeoShred 😄 Easier than on a real guitar. No IAPs yet, but I'm sure they're great.
That looks great @jumpercollins. When is the release date?
Sold individually or as a group of sounds? And they sound very good.
@moForte might want to consider creating modeled percussion, which I think would be particularly suited to Indian percussion sounds.
@Tickletiger Came out yesterday as a IAP.
Yep. Just update your app and they're added to the store in the app for immediate purchase.
I'm falling all over for GeoShred again, it's just so fun to play
I'm just curious about one thing...
On both my iPhone 8 and iPad Air 2 I've got a visible GeoShred folder in Files.app which is a nice and easy way to grab the recordings done with the app. (and also back up settings etc.).
However on my M1 iPadPro that folder is 'missing'(ie. not visible) in Files.app?!
Is there any easy way to make it visible (I've tried to save files from witting the app to force it to show up, the files are there but the folder is not visible) or do I simply have to delete and re-install the app?
iPad Air 2 is running iPadOS15.7.1, iPhone is running iOS16.1, M1 iPadPro is running iPadOS16.1.
I've tried most tricks I know apart from deleting and re-installing GeoShred.
Help would be much appreciated.
(I've forgotten the devs handles here, my bad).
Cheers!
I love GeoShred, and super excited for some new IAP, too.
While I'm here, a nagging question : Certain patches have control sliders up at the top that are set to a certain value but as soon as you touch them, it drops to zero and will not hold a value. How do you override that behavior so that you can move the sliders and have them keep the setting after you take your finger away?
Yes, that has been a big problem for me also.
If you go to control surface setting, then click on the slider, you can edit the slider’s behavior so that it does (or does not) snap to zero.
You are my favorite!
Wanted to upgrade GeoShred Player to Pro but Privacy Report?! It’s really too much for my taste. 😳

I don’t fully understand what this means. The sales screen when you open GS is kind of annoying, but the man has to make his sales. Is your screenshot possibly related to the sales splash?
I'm sure @moForte can and would like to comment on this, there must be a good reason, I'd imagine.
I’m not paranoid about privacy, let say I’m careful enough, but when an AU plugin decides to use my CPU power like a browser with few tabs opened then I’m concerned enough to avoid using such a ‘artist tool’.
Just imagine when 20-30 AU in a project starts doing the same thing. Is this good business?! 🤔
Wanted to upgrade Play to Pro and buy Naada Collection, and maybe that newcomer in future. I really like and want to have those instruments. I didn’t expect such a privacy report, because on the App store they listed “Data Not Collected”. 🥺
I never even noticed. I’ve had it for a while now so I guess it’s too late but I definitely do recommend the app.
What’s to comment on? Devs have got to make a living somehow. It’s up to each of us to decide what trade offs are acceptable. I’m OK with this one.
Agree, I don’t need any explanation for this either. It's a plain and simple NO for me.
What I need instead, is confirmation from someone who has GeoShred Pro to post a privacy report. Maybe it’s only GeoShredPlay doing this, maybe there is still hope for me.
I’ve just fired up GeoShred Pro and it looks (very brief look) more or less the same but most of the traffic happens when you access the store. If you don’t touch this there are less than half a dozen contacted domains. The Google video links are when you play a video on the store. Personally I don’t have a problem with any of this, life’s too short… I’d rather just make some music 😊
That makes obvious sense that Google would be contacted while playing YouTube videos.
Thank you for confirmation, we share the same philosophy, same result but different paths. Life is too short… stop worrying about things you cannot control, rather just make some music. 🤩
Hey everyone, I have the following situation: I’m using Drambo as host, and GeoShred as AUV3 plug-in. I can play it perfectly either with the GeoShred UI, or my Keystep. But whatever MIDI notes I record this way, they are never played back by GeoShred.
Is GeoShred a live-only instrument, or is it possible to record data for it to later be played back, just with any other AUV3 generator?
Thanks for your help!
Are you using any SWAM presets?
I didn't in this specific case -- but I have SWAM presets to try out!
I entered the rabbit hole of MPE yesterday, and understand the situation better. I also understand that there's MIDI tape recorder.
But I still don't understand why I can play GeoShred with my Keystep, but cannot let GeoShred be played by notes I recorded that way.
It seems to all be MIDI data, so GS obviously does some MIDI to MPE mapping on the fly. Does it do so only when played live -- but not when played from recorded notes? Why would it do so?
Thanks for all help in understanding this!
Should work fine. I’ve just recorded some stuff in Atom 2 and then played them back using the Shred Lead preset in GS without a problem.
What preset are you using in GS, what channel are you sending the midi on ?
The specific error message I get is:
"Presets using the GeoSWAM instruments can be performed from the GeoShred Keyboard or MPE controllers only.
Specifically, the SWAM parameter, 'Expression', must be controlled by the Channel Pressure message"
@chrisb78 for the Geoxxx instruments e.g. GeoCello, GeoFlute etc the input channel needs to be 2 or higher.
You will get that message if you use channel 1.
I got my situation to work by installing this plugin. I can now record with my standard MIDI keyboard, and the plugin maps it to GeoShred's MPE requirements.

Have a great day everyone!
Oh, thank you for the find, it works like a charm. 👍
