  • Nice song dude, I smiled. If you thought your vocals were bad, try being me:) they put a guitar in my hand just to keep me from singing. I've read over Takrekith's stuff (absorbed) and listened (and commented) on his work. He's good, I'm a big fan. I don't make money from music, I have a day job and am doing alright but can't justify paying to have my music mastered at a studio, I also have no desire to "make it" in the music business or get club play, just to make and share music for the love of the craft that I am constantly improving. Silly, I know, my wife already told me.

The traitor thing was a joke btw, glad you found what you like.

  • My thoughts on mastering are these.

Have a bloody good idea of why your track doesn't sound how you want it to.
Work out what needs doing to get it as close as possible to how you want it to.
Do that in the mixing app if at all possible.
Only once it's as close as you can get it in mixing, tweak it in the mastering app.

-If you want the best mastering advice on them web, consult @Tarekith, he has written some textbook how-to's on his site and obviously does a stellar job if you listen to any of his songs.

Thanks man, here's the link if anyone is interested:

I plan on doing a comparison between all the main iOS mastering options soon, stay tuned!
