Sounds interesting, I'd love to see an example of that...
Not exactly. The T-1 is a deep machine and I'd say that you spend most of the cash for its software development.
The hardware itself could basically be just a Beststep (plus an iOS app 😁) but if you read its manual, you'll find out how deep the machine is.
It might even be a little to deep for my taste (having to memorize all these functions and key combinations).
But there are other generative sequencers out there, too many to write in one sentence 😉
Thanks. I need to look into screenrecording (although my pretty full 32gig iPad might forbid that) maybe I'll post a screenshot and some audio at some point in the next days.
Great!
"MIDI FX pro" might be interesting: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/midi-fx-pro/id6444039855
This is a modular playground for MIDI and sequencing. You can do a lot with the modules and the app goes pretty deep. It can host AUv3, but unfortunately cannot run inside an AUv3 host. And I like the clean UI very much.
Thank you, I'll take a look!
I think you lost me with most of this, I'm very new to and barely begun to learn sequencing. Your post just reminds me how much I have to learn!
Your post just reminds me how much I have to learn!
Don't we all have, and isn't that nice? (When it comes to individual endeavours, not global problems, I wish we would have less to learn on that end...) I'm by no means an expert, by the way and just love noodling around without hardly ever finishing anything, slightly regretting the latter... I gave one of your ambient pieces on YouTube a quick listen...nice!
Sorry if my post seemed overly complicated, I'll try to explain better.
By having one sequence 3 Steps and the other 5 steps and mixing those you get a sequence that repeats after 15 steps (3x5).
If you're on 4/4 timing and want to keep it that way you can reset the sequences after 32 or 64 steps etc to get a 32 or 64 step sequence.
If you now change one step of the 3 step sequence, every 3rd step in the mixed 15 step sequence change.
On top of that you can change quite a couple of other parameters to shake that 15 step sequence up.
Mi-rack is a great playground for sequencing if you take it one step at a time.
Hope that's a bit clearer:)
I've already recorded a bit of what it does, tonight I plan to register a SoundCloud account, so I can post it.
Here is something I recorded:
In the beginning I change one step in one of the sequences everytime there is a drumfill, then I made bigger changes every 4 bars and at some point I turn knobs more frequently.
With the first two of the quadvca channels I can control the level of the single sequences and with the third I can transpose the mixed sequence. The select dials on the addrseqs shift the starting step of the single sequences.
Ah the links do work after all, it looked weird first.
Not relevant anymore.
Thank you, yes, clearer. But still, I have plenty to learn.
Nice.
PS: Thank you for your kind words about my YouTube recordings.
Very generous for sharing, thank you.
Does the SoundCloud link work? If not, does anyone have an idea, what I can do about it?
@krassmann : The Squarp Hapax is king , followed by Arturo’s Keystep pro . Look up the new update for KS pro on YouTube
I'm not sure why your Soundcloud sharing isn't working. I simply clicked on Share, beneath my track, and pasted into this post, and there it is.
Maybe check and try again.
Check out this sequencer I created some time ago using Mirack: https://patchstorage.com/aviary/
It replicates a lot of the experimental sequencing found in SugarBytes Nest and other logic based modular sequencers.
My pleasure, thanks for the help with SoundCloud, I‘m still not sure, how to do it best, but the weird looking link from 9:56 pm works.
Thanks, looks cool, I‘ll sure give it a try.
The link works, but I see your track is set to private on SoundCloud, so it's likely that's the reason sharing isn't working.
Thank you.
Oh, I did that on purpose, because it said I can share the link. Ok, I admit, it makes some sense, that embedding doesn't work with private uploads![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Does anyone know if the pads in the Torso T-1 can be used as drum pads to record live?
I was just looking at, and listening to the Korg SQ-64 now. Another hardware possibility for me, although the Torso T-1 is the greater temptation. I can only spend my birthday gift once, and I want it to be well spent. The only rule is that I buy something physical, a piece of music hardware, not software, so my beloved can appreciate it in a tangible way.
This was one of the videos I've been listening to:
Has anyone done a comparison between the SQ-64 and the T-1? I had been intending to get an OP-Z, but after having to return two as faulty, I'm now reconsidering, hence the SQ-64 and T-1 came into the picture.
Thanks for pointing these out, must get both !!
Nice! Of to experiment...
