Isn’t it quicker to dial in the sound you want than rummaging through 1000 presets, albeit with possibly helpful names?

I mean no disrespect to the preset author but most people (I suggest) don’t use presets for effects in this way - they dial in the sound they want to work with the mix in question and let the DAW save the settings for you. Does working DAWless make this different? I don’t know.

Typically, but if they are filed correctly then not so bad. They are listed by instruments so there’s a bunch for drums, a bunch for leads, a bunch for piano, and about ten more categories. All in one list but just scroll to the instrument or try something different.

That process does not work on the macOS desktop version of Alteza. Any pointers for macOS users, @FredAntonCorvest ?

UPDATE: I found the right folder for macOS. Here's the directory path...

    Users>(Your Name)>Library>Group Containers>LMWGVBK279.group.com.fac.Alteza>FAC>Alteza>presets

Keep in mind you cannot have any folders or subfolders in the "presets" folder. Alteza will not load if it sees folders where there should be none.

And by the way, a lot of these presets are really cool. Cheers to the author.

  • Do I need the IAP of Bandit if I have Alteza? Is this same same?

Bandit is not the same as Alteza. I recommend both.

I know. I mean, one of the IAP is reverb but I already have Alteza so I was not sure if it was the same reverb.

  • the Bandit IAP has Small, Room, Hall, Big and Abyss reverbs. you can adjust the Size, Pre, Damp and Mix

ALteza is a shimmer reverb with many more parameters

  • @Emanresu thank you for these.

  • Thank you both! As usual, @Poppadocrock comes to the rescue! Many thanks to you and @FredAntonCorvest !

  • Finally got this, and the Bandit presets to import. The part that made a difference for me, was instead of selecting all of the decompressed files to re-zip, I selected just the folder that they were in. Re-zipped from the folder level and import then worked.

  • Can someone explain what “re-zipping” is please?

  • Thanks @Burner . Still don't get it though.... :#
It's the Bandit presets I want. The ones from @Emanresu .
I dl the file from here on the AB forum. It goes into my downloads folder. Then what? If I click on it once, it unzips and a folder appears called "User presets FAC Bandit" (still in my "downloads" folder). Then if I long-hold, there's an option to "compress", but not to re-zip (?).
And if I try to move that folder, there's still no "import" folder in Bandit as far as I can see....
    Totally stumped

  • “Zipping” is just another name for Compressing @Kashi

  • Thanks @Edward_Alexander , yep, I understand that. It's the "re" bit I don't get!

Ah, well, according the the dev, these presets must be decompressed and then re-compressed into a new zip file. I’m guessing it has something to do with the newer versions of iOS and the respective handling of these kind of compressed files.

  • Ok, got it. Sorted now.
    Thanks @Edward_Alexander and @Burner
