Maturation is totally normal. Every high school boy does it. Nothing to be embarrassed about.

    Oh, wait…

Tried it once and couldn't understand the hype.....wait a minute.....I get it now!

(reminds me of the time I was trying to sound intelligent in a meeting with execs and I used the word paradigm, pronouncing it "pra-da-gym". Took me a long time to figure out why they were all looking at me so funny.)

Ha! Love that one. I'm guilty as well though. The funniest one for me is that I thought I was wrong than found out I was right. I was talking to my Mom about the "maturation" period of a bond when I was in high school and she called me out on it. I admitted to making it up, but years later I found that it was a word and I had used it correctly....not that that makes up for all my other screwy grammar mispronunciations or misuse since then.

  • I like to mull things over before I write. By the time I get around to it, it’s old news; just like now; this thread is days old; everyone’s probably forgotten about it.
I was also a lurker for quite a while; probably years. Mostly because I would be reading the forum on my iPad and I find writing on the iPad so tedious. I have a bluetooth keypad but I’m often eating or something when I read so that would be messy. then, later, at my computer I wouldn’t remember what it was I wanted to comment on or else the thread would be so far down the list I couldn’t find it.

While I’m in here I’ll bring up some questions I’ve had about the forum itself:
If I accidentally posted some music on the General Discussion, does it automatically get put into Creations? Or is that a misdemeanor ? Same with Off Topic. I haven’t done it but I fear I might make a mistake.

Or as @TheOriginalPaulB mentioned, he was one of the deleted users I’ve seen here and there. Is that because you wanted to change your forum name? I’m not particularly attached to my name; I think I was tipsy when I made the account. But I guess I’m stuck with it now. Or can I change it?

Speaking of Creations, I really like that feature and appreciate all of the examples I hear there. But I like to listen to music while I walk or bike ride and it’s frustrating that I must take out my phone and manually switch from post to post (except in the cases of people who include playlists on Soundcloud or whatever). It’s just a pie in the sky thought, but it would be nice if there was an AB forum Soundcloud or similar thing where we could post stuff and hear it in one big streaming group. On the other hand it’s good to have individual posts so we can comment about individual pieces.

Finally, Audiobus; it was definitely a pivotal app for music on the iPad. I'm still using it.

  • @Stochastically maybe @SevenSystems can build in his music folder 2 functionality into the forum and we just drop our creations into that folder. He’s never busy 😜

Nothing happens automatically, but you can ask Michael to move it. It’s not a big deal though.

I was originally PaulB. I asked to delete my account because my iPad 2 was stuck so far behind the then current iOS version that there was very little being discussed here that I could relate to. I didn’t think I would return. A few years later I came into some money and bought a first gen iPad Pro, so I had a good reason to start a new account. In the interim, however, someone joined using PaulB as their username, posted four times, then vanished, leaving the account active and the PaulB username unobtainable.
Michael might be able to change your username, I have a vague memory of someone changing theirs at some point.

I joined December 2012. I cannot at all recall the exact sequence of events but I do know reddit/r/ipadmusic and nanostudio and my guitar had something to do with it. Or maybe it was a demo of SoundPrism that brought me here since I had no business trying to play keyboards and it made these lush sounds. I even bought GarageBand since my iPad2 at the time didn't come with it.

I don't know if old posts are deleted or cleaned up but apparently my first post is about Guitarism's tilt control. shrug Kind of an odd first post, but you gotta start somewhere I guess!

    Because of Loopy !
I started with an iPad 1 from my job to test our websites on tablets...At that time I owned a Pc that I builded myself running Windows 7.

Now I've got 4 iPads, 1 iPhone, 1 mac mini, a macBook Air...and a MacBook Pro...(the last one provided by my job)

And Loopy was supposed to be a cheap app... :D

Not planning to do a "web version" of MusicFolder currently :D but there's an update being tested that will allow compression to ALAC, a choice of quality levels for AAC compression, and proper AirPlay compatibility if that's of any help ;)
