I have a really dumb question about YouTube missing comments

Yes CCleaner does in the sense that the removal of cookies reduces for-profit tracking, no? I understand about meta-data collection, thus no Facebook, Twitter, limited Google, Gmail. But much-much more importantly, I donate to organizations whose purpose is to break up big tech and nationalize the internet to become a utility.
Put your money where your mouth is? I certainly do and if everyone else did similarly we could rid ourselves of the corrupt billionaire class and the fact that they make democracy impossible.
Not sure if Waterworks would be up to running a free forum distributing random videos across the world, some good, some great, some awful. Even China gives entrepreneurs (free) rein; they just monitor them.
Also, if you can monitor your DNS lookups, you'll find that web pages are already reporting your usage to Facebook, returnpath.net, exacttarget.com, scorecardresearch.com, and lots of others. They don't need cookies to correlate your activity. I use Privacy Pro on my iPad and it blocks tons of these.
I understand your point about how difficult it is to stop them if you are not proactive and therefore all you do is try and configure your hardware / software to hope for least intrusion. That’s rather like allowing the transnational fossil fuel industry to destroy the air we breath, and then as a solution, suggest I get a gas mask. Clearly that is not the answer.
As I mentioned the solution is to donate to organizations whose purpose is to break up big tech and nationalize the internet to become a utility. I certainly do, and if everyone else did similarly, we could rid ourselves of the corrupt billionaire class and the fact that they make democracy impossible.
Speaking of Privacy Pro, check out this site: https://federalnewsnetwork.com/
OP, duckduckgo is hosted by one of the Big 5, it's governed by the Patriot Act, and it's been blocked by several countries due to its China associations.
Who's worse, Big 5 or the federal government?
Your question is nothing more than a false false dichotomy when you ask "Who's worse, Big 5 or the federal government?" There are other choices.
As such, and at the risk of repetition, I mentioned the solution is to donate to organizations whose purpose is to break up big tech and nationalize the internet to become a utility. I certainly do, and if everyone else did similarly, we could rid ourselves of the corrupt billionaire class and the fact that they make democracy impossible.
Anything less is rather like allowing the transnational fossil fuel industry to destroy the air we breath, and then as a solution, getting a gas mask.
I like the federal government and I support the federal government, because through democracy we the people are the federal government, and we can take it back from big tech, big oil, etc. We can get big money out of politics and we can stop this anti-science, QAnon, anti-vaxxer, prosperity gospel, pro-gun gibberish. We do not have to live with no internet privacy, we do not have to live with harsh capitalism for the middle class while the billionaire class and the corporations get all the socialized advantages of tax breaks and bail-outs.
True enough. Though I do find my tin foil hat is quite effective against other threats.
It was just a rhetorical rhetorical question.
Right now, there's a shit-ton of other problems for me to focus my energy on. But I get your point. Thanks.
I truly sympathize and I understood that it was a form of rhetoric. I just want you to know that I do donate to organizations that support the concerns I mentioned, and I would be willing to bet that most posters here could afford five dollars a month towards these types of concerns , and all they would have to do drink one less Starbucks. That's the beauty of what I am talking about, you do not have to focus your energy on it and I doubt you'll miss the five bucks a month.
And if you are smart like me, it will be tax deductible so your actual payments can be considerably less.
Lole surveillance capitalism. You sound like a college freshman. Get a grip, it’s a fuckin video site.
You have been reported to the moderators. Your response is uncalled for.
Uhhhhhh. You trolling?
