I think you have hit on an issue with the current version of Tabletop. We found that a midi keyboard would trigger both Tabletop and the instrument that was connected through mastermind. This all become difficult to manage. Since then, we have been working on solutions to this and I think we have it solved in the next version (out soon). Either way, I'll make sure we take another look at this during testing.
@djjuniorpops
I know that you can see the sample names when you switch from perform mode to program mode in iMPC Pro. I think you can even tap pads and sequence there...
Great, thanks. That would make people dust off their iminis and it will definitely get more used in compositions. Great sound and arp, well done.

Dan,
Interested in feedback on Cubasis test. What DAW have you tested IAA with? [crosses fingers it's Auria] ;0)

@DanWalton, no, my 2 week old Ipad Air fell from a desk onto a gym floor while in the case and the screen was shattered. My Ipad 2 survived much tougher falls, including being backed over by my Jeep and the screen survived. For those reasons, I will reserve my "heavy hitting" for when I have a midi drumpad connected to iMPC Pro:)
Dan I am talking in perform mode
Yes, it would be very useful to have the names in perform mode. Please make that possible.
Thanks Dan for the response looking fwd to the update mentioned.
@DanWalton Hi Dan, I try to ask you before I assume something wrong here: are you posting now on the audiobus forum becose you're planning to add audiobus support...? Otherwise it will not make much sense ;-)

I'm not implying Tabletop is a bad Daw, but to be frank, it just doesn't not fit my workflow. I use either Auria or Cubasis because I've been a desktop daw user rooted in protools, digital performer and Logic, so I need a DAW with a timeline, mixer and audio tracks that I can lay guitar, bass, vocals, etc. the way ikm accustomed to. I tried Tabletop because I like to be open for something new but Tabletop just was counter productive to my creative process.
I bought both Impc for ipad and iPhone and ending up deleting both. If I can't use Impc pro inside Auria and Cubasis, I have no intention of buying it. I need apps that play nice together and that will let me stay in the flow and Impc was horrible at it. Blocking Impc pro from others DAWs won't draw Auria, Cubasis or multitrack DAWUsers to switch to tabletop, you'll just lose sales.
Honestly I don't know how much effort would it cost Retronyms to implement AB2 in their products but judging from the interest on this site it may be a wise business decision to add it. Even Apple caved in and added it to their precious Garage Band, that surely must mean something.
I personally have too many boxes and not enough cash to be worrying too much about it and to be frank sooner or later that perfect mpc clone will crop up for me to replace my old good BM2.
I can understand why they don't want to add it, it's against their core business model, which is selling IAPs. Still, they seem to be smart and will integrate IAA. Once IAA becomes stable (and by extension) popular enough this will become a non-issue.
Personally I don't like the Audiobus workflow. It seems like a workaround for the limitations of iPad and iOS. Of course it's very valuable for people that have to produce something now, but for me it's just a hobby and a new one at that so I can wait for the workflow that jives the best with me. Right now that's apps like Gadget or Caustic but they have their imperfections. When Cubasis automation hits we will probably get a DAW where one can easily plug in other apps and control them to their liking.
The Audiobus allows for routing possibilities that IAA can't do. So, there are benefits to both.
Intua are working on Beatmaker 3, I don't think I can hang about on RetroNymphs thread any longer. So long!
@supadom Beatmaker 3 is good news! They said they listened to all of the comments an are incorporating them, so maybe the junk and bloat won't be included or maybe it will be deletable. That would be really cool! I know they mentioned they are redoing the file system, so it sounds promising! :-)
They also mentioned the effects upgrade which was another thing I thought was lacking a little. Now with more powerful devices they can go a bit more crazy
P.s. I don't thing I've ever used the built in sounds in a track, apart from the drum sounds that is. But even with those I found many sounds sampled with reverb on them which I found kind of strange.
I missed the effects upgrade! That's good news! I'll be watching with interest to see what happens. :-)
@DanWalton
Why are you giving so many informations on impc pro in the audiobus forum... With your policy, it's like Microsoft making promote on Apple forum...
I'm waiting for IMPC pro, i own tabletop with all the iap, imini & impc...so i think i can speak like a faithful customer :
Isolation in ios music today is just stupid (IMO). Every devs are working in the same way, with the same ideology : all apps need to work together (midi sync, iaa, audiobus, state saving, virtual midi...). You are the only dev who don't work like this....and you make promote here.
You are one of the best dev in the ios scene... but your isolation is stupid (imo).
I know IMPC pro can be used in other daw with iaa... but i'm waiting to see if i will be able to use it as easily as ALL the other synths/drums apps.
(sorry for my english i'm french)
