It took me a minute to figure this out also.
It seems by going to the material browser, which one would naturally assume, you can only access the “Perplexon” video clips under the “Media - Image/Video” tab. And as you’ve discovered, trying to import a video on this screen doesn’t work.
Instead;
Long press on one of your layer boxes to bring up this little menu, and tap PHOTOS
From there, you should be able to access your entire camera roll, videos and all.
That's crazy, they have to fix that !
Thank you very much
You’re welcome. Have fun!
Is there a manual for this app? I’ve found my way around the layers and modulation etc, and created some projects I’m happy with, but recording anything is a mystery.
Apologies if this has been covered already
Thanks all👍
If you open VS standalone and tap Help in the menu (hamburger icon top left) it open the manual in Safari. This doesn’t work in the AUv3 (I think it used to work). This is where it takes you:

To record the video, press the record button (red dot in the toolbar) before starting your transport in AUM. I would think it’s the same in DAWs etc if that what you’re using. Play your piece through, then hit stop and wait a bit - it’ll pop up a share sheet and you can send the recording wherever you want. This doesn’t match the manual, which says it saves the recording in a Recordings folder which I can’t find on my iPad. I suspect the manual needs an update. The share sheet used to have an option to save the video to Photos, but that seems to have disappeared.
Thanks for taking the time to respond - I’ll give it a go later - I’m going to find out soon enough, but will this just record video or synced audio too?
If you feed the audio into it (either pipe everything into an output bus and put VS on that, or put your finalised audio mix into a file player and put VS after that - these examples are for AUM), it will record the audio and video into the file. It can only record the audio you pipe into it.
