Interesting how different it will be from Mid East drummer
🤐
Probably a bit spicier.
Tablas! I’m super happy now

Audio unit.
Instead of creating yet another new app, I’d really appreciate it if Luis would simply spend that time fixing the many, many issues people here on the forum have expressed over the many years.
I really don’t see that as being too much to ask.
I love his creations, but sadly the unresolved issues will keep me from purchasing any more of his releases.
What problems do you have with his current apps? They've generally been reliable for me. A number of the issues visible in that screenshot have been addressed.
Well for one, open AUM, install iBassist and any of his drum machines and try to get them to synch together.
Are you sure it isn't an iBassist issue rather than applying to all the apps? I frequently use multiple LUMBeats drum apps together without issue.
Well the whole reason I purchased HIS iBassist app was for it to synch with HIS drummer apps. I dunno, I guess perhaps I’m the only one who would find something like that actually useful?
Anyway, I don’t want to place a speed bump on his next new app lovefest, so I’ll leave it at that.
🤣😂🤣😂
I can't think of a better place to discuss it. At least here it will get noticed.
Probably easier to use than SwarPlug.
Yes, SwarPlug has some really nice sounds but the GUI is a bit fiddly.
So many of the Lumbeat sync and midi issues would go away if he updated them to AU and let the host handle it. I wonder if he has finally made the leap with this app? Doh, I wasn’t going to mention it!...
I’ve had pretty good results getting them to sync together. It’s been other things for me, like sometimes iBassist will just completely stop putting out sound. I’ll be wondering where my bassline is, and I’ll have to close (swipe it closed in AUM) it and reopen it, to get sound again.
Other times, it’ll be more of an obvious crash (the AUM node turns red) repeat above fix and resume.
So it’s not just you!
I love the apps, iBassist and all of the drummer apps together don’t get me wrong, It’s really a beautiful thing when they’re working together!
They’re just “delicate” apps I guess. It’s almost like building a house of cards, getting all the settings just right, with the MIDI out accompaniment lanes all lit up and everything, then it all comes crashing down. I’ve grown to expect it now. I figure if I play with it enough, just long enough to record my piece of music, it’s worth the work. (Take a picture of that house of cards before it falls apart)
A “master manual” for these apps would be nice. An “iBassist manual” would do, with a section on how to use it with the drum apps.
With that, I just bought two more! lol
@LuisMartinez
What sync issues do you have with the current versions of the drum apps (not iBassist)? I use SoftDrummer, Jazz Drummer and MidEast Drummer pretty often and haven't run into issues with the sync.
If there are current sync issues he may not know about them.
For me it’s the midi issues, why put it in if it doesn’t work in AUM
What MIDI issues and which drummer(s)? There was a round of updates many months ago that addressed sending MIDI to the apps so that you can send MIDI from AUM to them without an intermediary like Audiobus.
I did sound for an Arangetram (classical dance recital from southern India) last week and learned a lot about the instruments and rhythms. Really amazing stuff.
I mainly use them on iPhone to export patterns and drop into Ableton.
Would be good if they worked on M1 Mac, they all seem to download from the Mac store ok but then crash on opening.
I can get most apps to talk to each other and I do love the sound and rhythms of Lumbeat apps but I would welcome any help in getting Hammerhead into Future Drummer. What is the secret sauce?
I have the same frustrations with ibassist and the drummer apps, much as I like the drum apps.
Do you have issues with drummer apps besides working with iBassist?
Do you mean have notes from Hammerhead triggering notes of Future Drummer? I don't have FutureDrummer but some time in the past year it seems that Luis removed the ability to have their individual hits triggered by incoming MIDI notes.
Wait, midi in has been removed? There is still a midi in setting in FT. I can’t see anything in the release notes. I can’t get it to work, though. And the usual crash when configuring settings in FT loaded as an IAA (yes, I should report every IAA crash to every IAA developer...).
In the other apps, midi in seems now to be all about controlling the app. You can see the mapppngs in the midi panel.
He removed individual notes being triggered in the current generation of apps which started rolling out about a year ago I think. And it wasn't mentioned in the release notes in any that I know of.
If you run into regular problems in any app that you want fixed, you should report them.
Yes, midi out of Hammerhead to trigger the sounds in any of his drum apps. They all have midi in and out options so they’re there for what purpose?
