Can y’all enlighten me? How does hammerhead compare to chomplr? I thought the sample packs were what this app was all about Chopper + Rompler = Chomplr
It doesn't lol. Nowhere near the same. Not many hip hop producers round these parts so I think the concept of Chomplr is lost here.
Good to know, thanks.
By the way, those iaps - are they the same sample packs they sell on their site? Or lower quality, less samples included, etc. ?
so i don’t know chomplr very well. doesn this set in the Au effects slot in AUM? can you record directly into it?
No, the way Chomplr works is that you have sounds within it that you can slice and sequence, either directly with the keyboard or using something like Atom.
There’ll be someone here far better qualified than I to answer that![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
It’s not really lost, there’s just better workflows available > @yug said:
It’s just less samples, same quality though and very good samples. I thinks it’s just selections from their larger packs
The issue is, until you can load your own samples (yes, I know this a sore point today of all days) it is restricted to bundled content and any additional samples you want to use are IAPs. I haven't used sEGments but as I understand it the concept is very similar except that you can load your own content into EG's app. FWIW Chomplr is excellent at what it does.
Depends on your individual workflow and the type of music you make. Chopping samples isn't really a hammer head workflow. Loading and playing yes. And you don't get sample packs in hammer head either. It's a great app just different purpose. The main focus of Chomplr was their sample packs and having a tool readily available to chop said packs. I believe this is part of the reason it has taken so long to release sample import. Not their intended purpose.
Really? What are some better workflows than what it has on offer (full suite of sounds/samples presets that are pre chopped across keys and customizable)?
Beatmaker 3. Maybe not the prechops but learning how to chop isn’t that difficult and infinitely more rewarding in terms of making it your own
Can’t believe people are talking about “learning how to chop” when Segments & BM3 etc do it for you.
My beef with Chompler was it was originally put forward as a sample slicer when it wasn’t until it adds audio import in some form it’s just a glorified rompler, one with more tricks but essentially a rompler.
I bought Chomplr and was pretty disappointed. I mean, I already have tools to chop my own, but I thought it felt super bulky and kinda for what it is. Maybe I didn’t give it enough time.
And, although I got a lot of other ways to slice things already, it was disappointing to not have that option in Chomplr, because I think that using my own stuff would probably help me get into the app more easily.
But lots of apps come out a little weak and get better with updates. Shit, still waiting on NanoStudio2 to add audio tracks years later haaaaa pshh
So we just don’t read the description of an app and just buy and later be disappointed with what it offers 😂😂😂😂. Cool.
The IAP seems to be working now, but i'm soo hesitant about pulling the trigger, idk
The point is the whole advertising of it gave the impression it was a sample slicer, but it isn’t, so far it’s only half that.
I don’t remember the advertisement but the description said “Chopping Rompler”.
Anyways sample import is $2.99
+1
Trying to get better sounds into Hammerhead led me to spend some time with BM3 last evening. It really is dead simple to slice loops once you decide what you’re trying to go for.
I bought Chomplr on sale and just wasn’t in love from what I heard in the sample pack previews. Once sample import is working, I intend to give it another go with some of the loops I’ve already got.
Suddenly I’ve found myself with an embarrassment of riches when it comes to apps for slicing loops.
It's up. It works. Nice to have it on iPhone.
Still think Koala is the best for chopping up my own samples. But MSX have some dope loops.
Good deal
Just don’t need it. Plus the packs don’t really fit my sound. It has a target audience and left out the rest.
Damn. Search function let me down. Posted in another thread, but the sample import works well, good to have an alternative to ReSlice for sample chopping.
Kudos to the developers for adding sample import which is what everyone was asking for.
Sample import works but the sample packs are giving me a headache, some work, some of they wont load, tried reinstalling, this app has been one problem after another imo
good to see sample import added May dive in now Can keyboard layout be switched to pads though?
noup, just the regular piano keyboard
Ok need those drum pads
Ok much prefer if was all in Chomplr. Thanks for info
Can't audio demo any sound packs. Anyone else? Play button is completely unresponsive.
Same here. Notified them.
