That is a really odd decision to not beta test...
Cool, will use it much more now. The only thing is The first time I got a message saying the file has to be less than 100 seconds so I guess I’ll have to use AudioShare to edit files first. it would be really cool to just truncate files in Chompler. Maybe later down the line? Anyway nice update
Maybe they ARE beta testing.
Lol maybe they are. I was just responding to what was quoted above.
They have been showing screenshots of beta tests for quite some while. So they are for sure beta testing, just not public.
👌
FYI. They are beta testing, each and every single app they have now and any future apps.
So I think we have now established that they were pulling your leg… 🦵
MSimp was pulling his leg 😂😂😂.
@hansjbs
Ok I take it back they were leg pulling. I took this comment the wrong way.
They told me since they do beta test. So I retract the comment.
The update is out now. I actually brought it and wish them well releasing further updates.
Any timestretch? Presumably not as it isn’t mentioned
Does it matter whether or not you're doing any testing though when you release a dud? 🤷
Yep I know, just avin' a laugh.
I would think of course it does. If it is released with bugs after beta testing imagine it without.
All good just having a little fun.😂😂😂
Sure, that's the "it could have been worse" argument. Technically correct, but I don't think it holds water IRL. I worked most of my life for software manufacturers, and in my experience if your stuff comes out and it doesn't work, noone's interested in exactly how much work you put in to get it to not work.
🤷
Sorry if it's been asked but I import my own sample to chop so it mantain pitch and key when I change tempo? Or does the sample repitch, thanks
Luckily it was a quick fix.
Selecting ranges is still too clunky.
Are you using the arrows and “Fine” button next to the data slider? They work pretty well for me for fine-tuning in’s and out’s. 😎👍🏼
Would be better if it'd make more use of the touch screen, like dragging start/end points and so on
Exactly this. Feels like a throwback hardware solution to not nailing what others have already done on touch.
That's fine but I just disagree. I live in a world where nothing is perfect. People try to make everything as good as they can but constant improvement is always at play. In my day to day life, both at home and at work, ever single thing I can think of is undergoing maintenance. There is also a big difference between saying something doesn't work and saying something is not perfect, or perfectly functional. I don't believe anything is perfect, or even perfectly functional. There are many things that I wouldn't change but it's not because they are without flaws.
I doubt it is possible to release a perfect product, and I'm not saying that is what you are suggesting at all. Between releasing a product with minimal flaws and something quite problem ridden there is a lot of grey area and it's a complicated entity. At the simplest level there are some people saying just release it I want it now and others saying I'll wait until it is more reliable. Who do you listen to as a business entity. There are pros and cons for both. You are balancing a perception between happy customers and faith in the quality of your product. Then there is the financial side. How long is the peak of retail sale. Do these guys need a financial boost right now to keep working on the product? Maybe they don't but I'm sure there is a point where everyone needs to start getting paid to justify the work being done. I am sure this analogy is not in the same ballpark but imagine a company working on a major building construction and waiting until it is 100% complete and everything is perfect for payment. I've been in my office for over 5 years and there are still problems. The owner now pays for maintenance with the construction company long gone.
That doesn’t bother me. It reminds me of my old Ensoniq Mirage. I like it a lot. To each their own of course. 😎👍🏼
Right on and limitations breed creativity!
Is there a way to save edits to a sample, like start and end point? If not that is quite sucky.
It will save state in a host. I’ve used AUM, NS2 and CB3. You can also save presets in AUM and NS2. They are not shared across hosts but I don’t typically need that function anyway. If I’m working on a project in NS2 for instance, I wouldn’t normally need that preset in another host.
Fair. I do get your point. My argument is not that something is either perfect or it doesn't work. I don't think that's true, either. It's simply that the world doesn't usually care how much work is behind the end product. Anyway, best of luck to both the devs and the users of this one.
Thanks. I guessed that was the case. Still, super sucky. What is the point of a standalone if I can't prepare a sample for use in a project.
Sounds like a feature request!
