Interesting, thanks.
Thanks for that. I’ve had Drambo since the day it was released but still only scratched the surface. I really need to dig into that app, it’s been long overdue.
Thanks @rs2000 @Samu @MisplacedDevelopment @Fingolfinzzz @Jeezs @gusgranite hopefully I got everyone in there if not thanks for the info, and input.
Maybe cykle? As a test I had it sending CC’s to Hammerhead in AUM. I had to filter note on/off because it was sending a pulse that was triggering a sound on HH. I used MIDI Tools for that.

We spend so much time in this forum we often loose perspective and forget this is a tiny crowd. It’s so little these amazing devs need a day job and have to work on our apps during weekends.
If there was “serious” money in it, be assured we’d have it all. Certainly not the case, specially when paying 10$ for an app.
Modstep can do this I believe
What about MidiMixer?
I absolutely agree. Give me basic but editable automation lanes for volume, pan, mute and solo per channel in AUM and my AUM needs would be complete.
That can work, but I think it only gives you 3 assignable CC’s the rest are already set. You can draw it in but I’m not sure if it records the live automation in? I haven’t tried that yet, gotta check. I use it a lot and love midi mixer, but sometimes it’s a lot to pull out when I got a small session going. I was really hoping to come across something I didn’t know about, maybe gauge interest, or even inspire Ribn to go au. Lol. Maybe there’s a developer (throat clear, @cem_olcay) interested in trying to create a small, simple, au app that that records, edits, and plays/loops automation. I’m really hoping to find something functionally similar to CC pal and Ribn, with au and the ability to see the automation as well.
Thanks for all the input everyone, it is truly appreciated. For the longest time I thought there has to be something like this, but never found anything. It is possible in various ways, with various apps, which is awesome, however a dedicated AU app would be a welcome addition to my arsenal. I know it can be rough for a developer on iOS, and I do not understand the coding involved to create something like this, but it feels like a hole in iOS Music market that could/should be filled, particularly for those who work with AUM. Hopefully we see something in the future. Cheers all.
+1 to the potentially next @cem_olcay plugin 😆
I feel like it would fit right in with his catalog of apps. A nice simple midi “module” dedicated to cc automation, would be awesome.
Edit - Well simple from a non-coders perspective.
Edit #2 - I just realized it probably wasn’t fair of me to suggest a specific developer, on the forum in this situation, My apologies. I did not mean anything by it, just thought it could potentially be a good fit, between an app idea and a developer. Cheers!
@Poppadocrock Sort of like this? ….

Any reason why you're refusing to use LK?
It's an AUv3, it records CCs perfectly, it can launch and loop CC automations either synced to the beat or immediately, you can edit the recorded automations, it supports super long clips as long as a whole song...
@sharifkerbage
That last clip you put up of eg midi pad
Is that a new app ?
Couldn’t find it in the App Store
Wondering the same. It’s already here.
Not at all, I might wait for the next sale. I haven’t unlocked the Matrix, have a ton of apps Ive yet to learn and I’m pushing my 2018 IPad 6 to its limits more often then not. So I wasn’t sure if a whole new “workflow” type app would be the best fit for my situation. I would love to try it, and probably will at some point.
Edit - When I say “workflow” I mean a bigger, more extensive type app. If that makes sense.
What is that? Is it part of the new modern fx app or something completely different.
Edit - I see the app icon logo inside AUM, looks like another EG app to me, probably something post Modern FX Release.
I completely forgot about the QK Mozaic script. I started to mess with it, then somehow lost it in the mix of new apps and creating.
I’m going to have to go back and give it some more time. Thanks for the reminder. Cheers.
@soundtemple
Hold up I just realized that was a recent video, has there been an update to the qk Mozaic script?
Apparently it's an upcoming app, EG MIDI PAD, according to that post on @ElliottGarage IG page. Maybe we can get official confirmation 😋
Here is another one:
Will be interesting to see what this offers over just using a keyboard etc
All completely new. QKv2 is just around the corner with new devices including a clip/pattern launcher - sequencer (which I use with LK) and full bi-directional launchpad integration for all devices.
It's all done. Just doing some final testing.
That’s great to here. Will it be up on Patchstorage. You can upload a zip file.
Maybe I’m missing the point of what you want to do but what about PhotonAU? Records midi and can playback in one shot or looped as far as I remember...also editable.
Not editable other than to alter loop length, etc. Might as well use Atom 2.
It also sometimes has sync issues and problems handling sustain pedal messages properly if I remember correctly. Good app otherwise though.
AUM is a good tool for performance or as a bridge between other apps. It is still a very fancy audio mixer. It is not a DAW, although there are many audio units to "construct" it into a DAW, but the more options you want to add, the more complex it get.
I think (my opinion) a wiser solution would be to use AUM as a bridge between a DAW (iPad or Desktop) alá Ableton or Bitwig where you could record and edit in clips.
@Poppadocrock Ah yep will make it available, maybe individually this time rather than one big confusing project
@sharifkerbage
I like Elliot garage apps
Fingers crossed this midi pad app brings something useful to the game
