You really don't get to say that, I'm afraid.
One method of investing for people who don’t want to worry about the ups and downs of markets (this applies to cryptos as well as stocks) is known as “Dollar Cost Averaging”:

Millennials in particular feel overwhelmed with information and do not feel they are investing enough. “DCA” could be the right kind of investing strategy for their lifestyle.

A big area of concern for crypto holders is security, since cryptos are essentially “digital gold” eventually one will need to look into crypto wallets or crypto hardware for storing their assets. If one holds large amounts of cryptos, things like on-site safe storage, air-gapped computers and hard drives might be a consideration. I do know some people who must take extreme measures, but for beginners a software or hardware wallet is enough. Personally, I keep my cryptos with several exchanges and use multi-factor authentication for account security, which are good minimal measures for all investors.

Thanks for that warning. I've only come across BitBoy so far but my spidey sense was definitely on alert mode. Seems like he barely knows what he's talking about, classic example probably of someone who just got into youtube early enough to get big without actually having much merit
If anyone in any arena claims to have special or secret knowledge that only they can provide, avoid them. They are a scammer.
Now I get it! You aliens have introduced crypto in order to control our financial system.
Your AI algos are very good but still not good enough to fool us humans. That ‘thank you’ above makes no sense.

Frankly, new issues are more appealing to daytraders or those willing to gamble on a long term payoff on an idea.

@NeuM: people may have legitimate disagreements with the views you express or link to. It is beneficial in the search for truth for people to be able to question information and views that are posted. Labeling disagreement as inherently negative or destructive undermines intellectual rigor and can lead to unquestioned re-enforcement of ideas and untruths that merit scrutiny. If you want a place to discuss your ideas without anyone expressing disagreement, this forum probably isn't the place.
If ideas are good ideas they stand up to scrutiny.
You haven’t provided legitimate disagreements. Show your work. Simply disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing isn’t evidence or a valid form of debate.
I’ve found that those with the biggest complaints have no experience whatsoever with cryptos. In fact, the doubts and criticisms I had for over a decade dissolved when I started committing my own money to a variety of cryptos. Nothing focuses one’s attention like putting your own skin in the game.
So if you’re here to debate theoretical scenarios based on fear and not facts, I’m really not interested. If you have real world cases of someone making a mistake that others could learn from, that’s a good story and it deserves to be heard.
I challenge you and every naysayer to commit some of your own money, of any amount, to your choice of crypto (any one of the literal thousands available) and come back here and provide a detailed account of your experience. I’m very serious about this. Come back when you have some personal experience to discuss the positives and negatives.
I hesitated to post on this thread because it's going to raise it back to the top of the list. But based on experience, I don't think this thread has seen its last post…
I was pretty sad to see this on the front page this morning. I'm burnt out from seeing crypto news everywhere I look.
I log on to social media: cryptocurrency
I turn on the news: cryptocurrency
I call an old friend to catch up: "did you hear ___ bought a lot of Bitcoin and…"
It's all I see these days, and I really cherish this forum as a place I can go to read about making music, and not worry about my finances, inflation, and whatever else.
I can tell that it's fascinating for you, but it's stressful for me. So I'm wondering if you can move the chat to Reddit, or Discord, or a forum for people who want to read about cryptocurrencies? I'm not trying to censor you. I can tell that you care a lot about cryptocurrency. But there are so many places to have conversations about it with willing participants.
And surely you'll have cooler conversations in forums devoted to this topic, anyway!
Are the many threads which bring app sales to your attention also of great concern?
This thread is meant to inform. Musicians are also people who have other interests. If this is stressful for you, please do not read it or the other thread (which has nearly 15,000 views so far, so people are legitimately interested in this subject here). And by the way, you can choose to not read “Off-Topic” discussions.
As far as thread counts go, there are only 2 threads with the subject matter of cryptos… compared to literally tens of thousands of others available for light reading. Thank you.

And for those who are new to cryptos, post your real-world experience. Which exchange did you sign up with? Did you experience problems or did things go smoothly? How have your investments performed?
(deleted post - posted here one my recent trade but after more thinking about it, i don't want somebody follows me - in case that things go wrong.. i would feel responsible.. too much responsibility for me )
You’re legally in the clear as long as you include the following disclaimer: “This is not financial or investing advice. Do your own homework.”
i know, but this is more about my bad feeling if somebody enters trade because of me and then it turns in wrong direction..
Well, you’re right about that. Personally, I never advise anyone to take action on a particular crypto or stock.

(I haven’t actually read this one yet. Looks like a good one though.)
Never take free advice on the Internet from strangers. It's better if you take the time and learn about markets on your own. My strategy involved investing small amounts at first (and never selling). This way I could track my investments and evaluate what to do (or not do) next.
Hey, only a couple years since the last post here, but BTC certainly is back now.
I’ve been dabbling in crypto for a few years now, and it’s been an eye-opener to see just how much innovation is happening. I started off with Bitcoin and Ethereum like most people, but I’ve also gotten into newer projects like Solana because of the low fees and fast transactions. It’s been great for experimenting without the crazy gas fees.
For anyone thinking of launching their own projects, I tried using https://solana-scripts.com/ a while back to play around with creating tokens and boosting volume, and it was a pretty smooth experience. It’s cool how accessible these tools are becoming, especially for artists or creators wanting to get involved without needing a ton of technical knowledge.
