NanoStudio 2 is the work of one developer and he relates:

"I'm sure many of you can attest that the last 18 months have been unusual. I've been unable to dedicate much time to NanoStudio 2"

    Where is this quote from?

@Jumpercollins pulled it from the NS2/ Foru https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/community/
and quoted it on page one here. I pulled out this quote from his comment. Maybe Matt's personal difficulties are better documented on that site. I generally cut developers a lot of slack and feel sorry for one that exposes a roadmap and then the world intervenes to change anticipated circumstances. @Michael's effort on Loopy serves as an example... all his ship date expectations proved to be inaccurate.

The alternative to delaying product release is to ship a product that's just not ready and suffer the consequences of an escalated maintenance effort and poor reviews that kill
time to break even on the effort.

+1 and much more so when it comes to indie devs. The music app landscape would be far less interesting without them.

  • I think there are those that believe all these developers are selling their apps to thousands of customers.

    This just isn’t the case.

One big difference is that NS2 has tempo and meter changes while Xeq doesn't.

A big one for me is that Xequence has time-stretching. (Sigh, if only I could mash Xequence, NS2 and BM3 together...)

    Good points, thank you both.

it can also provide midi sequencing for all AU instruments loaded in AUM - link start/stop made the workflow a lot easier where NS2 works like midi sequencer for all instruments loaded in AUM a lot easier...

Wow. Thank you for the tip. I wonder how NS2 compares, when used in this way, to Xequence2?

You can’t mix time signatures on xsequence2

  • @klownshed : I hope I wouldn’t have trouble using NS2 w an iPad Air 4.

  • Quick shout out to @dendy here, the absolute boss of how to do almost anything in NS2. Thanks friend.

for those who aren't visitors of blipnteractive forum, Matt also makes music not just app. Of course, using his own app :-) Worth to listen, pretty good tracks

+1. Same setup, never an issue.

  • Still unusable to me without audio.

AKAI MPC like audio recording during playback works well though, just not audio tracks in the classic sense.

Edit: Has anyone using NS2 taken the Blocs Wave pill yet? ;)
I've just tried running NS2 on iPad and Blocs Wave on iPhone synced via Ableton LINK and they team up like a charm!

to be honest didn't expected that just link start/stop (and midi sync) will bring so much fun.. playing with it all the time, syncing various apps together, and hell - it really opens new possibilities..
