@ElliottGarage I tried drag and drop, as well as file import, and ran into same issue. I'm using .wav files, some were 24-bit, others were 16-bit. Thanks for taking a look.

@CapnWillie I plan on using Segments like a Digitakt with this update. 😄

Tell me more about the Digitakt workflow if you don’t mind. Just trying to see where I may be missing out on how best to use new multi sample in feature.

For now, Segments is my goto loop chopper and kit maker. Id love it if Segments and Pulse could export to popular formats like Maschine, MpC and BM3 kits. Make it easier to create, share and sell sample/midi packs. Would be another great “pro” IAP for @ElliottGarage perhaps.

Currently, only Segments has the ability to automate start and end points like Digitakt, so that's the goal with multi-sample import for me.

Just Grabbed that new algo plus 32 slices, and Multisample sample import only $3.99

  • Also free in the update segments reorder fx slot is now multiout and fine tune slices pitch

  • @ElliottGarage it would be great to have 8 bars AND the song mode (128 bars for lots of variation and movement), better sample manipulation (eq, filter with res and cut, adsr all per pad), more slices, more fx, more pads (32-64), pad bouncing and exporting, sample layering, key detection and resampling. Some of these are already implemented in segments. It would be great to use the two for all my sampling needs. Eg pulse for drums, segments for one shots (instruments, synths) and loops.

Maybe have an EG Pulse supersonic edition and then a separate iap for fx packs.

    Oh and more themes!

I think my brain has just wrapped my head around how bad ass automating start/end per slice is @auxmux 👀

Yeah, man! It's great. Do it all the time in miRack and desktop, and would love to do in AUM using Segments.

Drambo (AU) and Elastic Drums (nope AU) let you do it but I never used a Digitakt so can’t compare.

  • Lovin' the multisample import. That is one super fast way to grab a load of one-shots out of a folder! Two things would make it infinitely better:

    • Ability to re-order slices. Or at least to assign which pad goes with which slice.
    • Ability to "append" import. By this I mean import one or more samples as you can now, but then import one or more additional samples without replacing the rest.

Unquantised sequencing in EG Pulse (or a way to move beats off the beat, would be marvellous), just sayin’

+1 didn't even think of that lol.

    Seconded, heartily.
I've given up asking to be able to trim the audio files — I appreciate that this is a whole can of worms that other apps can do better. But reordering slices would basically accomplish the same thing, with the "dead" slices relegated to, say, Pads 24-32.
Hope it's possible @ElliottGarage, and thank you for the update.

  • Im not sure its a bug or just a misunderstanding but using the warp on slices in 'loop' mode instead of shot or gate mode doesnt have the same affect. I was thinking the 'loop' mode would be pitched but retain the speed of the original.
    Am I missing/misunderstanding something @ElliottGarage ?

  • Can we get a video of the updated features.. please….

    Thanks

    Yup. Agreed, agreed.

  • So I had a quick play with the new timestretching (be sure to change the algorithm in settings!) and it sounded good. I did only have a chance to try it on one preset though.

Does anyone remember the thread where someone did a blind test with BM3, segments and Koala? I can’t find it!

I asked earlier and got this response....

You can import multiple samples but they are sorted. sEGments engine at the moment need the slices are ordered sequentially.
BTW to import each sample in a slot/pad you have already EG Pulse that has born specifically for that purpose 😉

I still think it would make Segments ultra-supersonic

I can see the slices needing to be ordered sequentially for how the engine works and how changing that could be major. But it seems like de-coupling which pads / midi notes are assigned to trigger them wouldn't be all that difficult.

Yeh, easy to say when you're not the developer. >:)

  • The update with the fix for the disorted audio when sEGments is in the fx slot and for midi map of slices 17-32 is online ;)

  • @ElliottGarage so i have a question about importing and deleting wav files. so if i import a single wav file, can import other wave files to other pads. or is the only way to select and import all wav files from the beginning?
and once a wav file is on a pad, can it be deleted or swapped out for another wav file? do i have to just do the INT. patch and start fresh. just curious.
also thanks for the latest update. very cool!

    Working perfect now.
    Thanks, @ElliottGarage
Is there a way to set a segment to "Latch-Pong"?

  • So how do I turn on 32 slices?

    edited September 2021

    @gregsmith
Hit Slice then Divide. Use the "Parts" bar to select slices 17-32.

Is it me.? But, I can't seem to get files to sync (Tight) in AUM.. maybe I'm doing something wrong..

  • @ElliottGarage did something break with the midi control of the different elements inside of Segments? I only see 16 controls for each of the elements and not 32 since it was expanded.

  • Having Zoom in/out would bring sEGments to a whole new level.
