  • awesome!

  • Great to have it on iPad!

  • A subscription to use… a loudness meter? Come on.

    Or onetime $29.99...
...or free without histogram and true peak visuals.
(I'm using the free one on the desktop).

  • Well, at least there's a lifetime option, kinda pricy btw.. considering that there's not IAA-AU connectivity

With the Pro sub I assume, right?
Couldn't find it in the description, so I assumed there wasn't.. my bad.

Did a reboot and it showed up

  • Such a major release in my opinion. Dedicated metering was probably one of the last studio tools missing from iOS. If you're planning a commercial release and mixing/mastering on the iPad, this is a must-have plugin. 10 bucks a year is a steal for the amount use I'm going to get out of this.

    HOWEVER...

I can't get the standalone version to hear USB audio over Apple CCK. I've tried different USB devices, apple devices, plus both types of CCK. Anyone else experience this?

    iPad 8/iPhone 8/iOS 14.8 -BTW.

  • Version 1.1.0 is out:

-Added ability to record and export audio files within the app
-Added option for different audio routing. For example, if you connect an audio interface that supports 2 input channels, you can analyze one channel only as a mono input
-Fixed can't connect audio interface while the app is open
-You can now select different loudness window sizes in the settings
-Audio over network feature is now available in the free version
-Other small fixes and performance improvements

The only text review on the AppStore mainly complains about that you have to grant the microphone permission and that makes it useless for him/her because of the background noise. Oh my… 🥴 Probably Apple should think about voting on reviews.

BTW, the IAP is down to 19.99. On their website it’s still Black Friday until tomorrow - probably that’s why.

Lol. I know. There should be some way to mark reviews with “user error” “user misunderstanding” or something. I get frustrated when a good app gets a bad review because the user doesn’t understand how it works. Even worse if that user doesn’t update the review after they figure it out. If I get frustrated the developers must hate it.

  • @krassmann Thanks for posting ref the BF price change still being active. I had intended to purchase the lifetime IAP and forgot.

Really grateful for still being able to save a few quid. Cheers. :)

  • For me, $29.99 isn't too outrageous of a price for a metering app (we spend the same if not more for Fabfilter plugs), but at $19.99 it's definitely a no-brainer. The reason I say this is I master my own tracks, plan to release an album soon, and metering is of the utmost importance when mastering tracks to one another.

  • Any advantages over using Pro-L 2 bypassed?

Thanks. So it's either this or TB Barricade for accurate LUFS metering on the iPhone?
Anyone know of others? (4Pockets Analyser isn't accurate).

I wish I knew, lol. I love TB Barricade, but soon NoLimits2 will be released, and I may use that for my limiter of choice instead. 😅 Hence why I got this Youlean app.

  • Fabfilter Pro-L is for many the best limiter on iOS. Especially if you’re pairing it smart use of saturation via Saturn on the individual tracks and busses.

I personally feel that DDMF stuff is overrated. It undoubtedly has many classics in its portfolio, such as the MagicDeathEye
compressors and the ERS stuff but the same quality isn't a given across all its portfolio products. I'd recommend downloading the desktop demo first to ensure your iOS spend doesn't go to waste.

  • Anyone know the difference with the IAP? There is a Lifetime Access IAP and a Lifetime Access Original IAP. The original one is about $10usd more.
I’ve checked their website but no info.

How is this easier for correct lufs etc vs barricade ?

Is it just a meter ?

Is Barricade a limiter etc ?

Or is it a limiter that shows you lufs, easier ?

  • Hmm perhaps see how it might work.

    Its a mastering app.

Barricade is a mastering plus recording app.

Even if I decided to just check stems triggered in Drambo ( for lufs ) and to gain dithering of tracks ? ( whatever that is )

Seems I need to use an amp to gain the equivlent of aums pre fader and not go by Drambos track output ( to actually make sense of the luf app )

  • Barricade is a limiter and a compressor. It does shows LUFS, but I have always used the free version of Youlean for that.

Do you know enough about lufs and scale, peak etc ( short term and intergrated ) I guess for overall song measurement vs tracks ( difference in readings )

To not need paid version ?

No, free version shows it all, just put it at the end of your Master. I have no clue what the payed version will add. On my last track I used the LUFS metering from the Master Plan app.

    What do you think?

Didnt show the 3rd page or the graphs, in vid.

But theres settings for lufs for 2hrs or 5 mins etc.

Is short term lufs ( the free version )

    More accurate etc ?

Ok, so much deeper controls. I don’t think I need that.
