No worries. A list of beta instructions flashed up but I can't find my way back to it. Can anyone point me to those please e.g. what's the URL for the slack group?
@craftycurate the same instructions are here: https://loopypro.com/beta/
Please post questions and bugs on the Loopy slack channel, not here.
Thanks!
Is it possible to route an AU instrument to an AU fx?
I have Hammerhead playing a sequence and I want to send it through some AU fxs.
Sure. Tap the edit icon, then the FX icon. Add an FX. At the bottom you'll see the targets. All the colors will be highlighted by default. At the left you should see hammerhead, and by default it won't be selected. Select it, then optionally disable it from the "colors" which are all highlighted by default.
Coool. Thanks so much!
Wow 🤩 this app is everything. Thank you for letting us in to test, play and enjoy this amazing app before it’s officially released!
Unlike my immediate start with LoopyHD, this is taking some time to wrap my brain around. I already have one question answered in the #slack... right now there is no twist to adjust the timing, which is bad for me because my timing really sucks.
I think I'll need to spend some time with this. Not because it didn't work the absolute second I pressed onto a track but because it isn't set up the same way as LoopyHD and there are a ton more options now!
Now onto #slack to make sure I can follow along. Super happy to be in the Beta, I'm sure I'll end up buying the app just because even though I suspect it is all beyond me... (I did that with Drambo among others too)
Let's have the beta nuts-and-bolts discussions and questions over on the slack channel as Michael has requested. Questions about how to do things are useful for Michael to see as he thinks about docs and workflow tweaks.
Just go into Edit Mode and tap on the Pencil icon on your track. This will take you to an audio editor view.
Just found it today since the twist gesture didn’t work 😉
I am largely befuddled with the beta. Hard to know how to start.
Please discuss over on the slack channel per Michael’s request. There is a channel set up over there for questions and helping people out.
Yeh, twisted my brain pretty hard at first too. I'm past most of that now. Tryin' to think how to express specifics in a useful way for Michael over on the Slack.
It's not bad that you're experiencing this. It's valuable. Michael needs to know what's difficult for people. It's too late to change anything about the app app design now, but tuning of menus, descriptive text, starter templates, tutorials, manuals, etc. can be better focused with your feedback.
Even simply asking questions over on Slack is good. Questions reveal what is tripping people up!
This is a beast paired with Drambo, excellent work
Grabbed the beta. = Level measures of fun vs some weird stuff/confusion/user error. Some really nice features tho (layout designer’s dope @michael !) 👏

I've been flailing around to get anywhere. To be fair, I HAVE been able to do something. But my initial floundering experiences were significant.
I can say something like it is hard to know where / when to use the Record / Play button. And I thought I had hit the loop to record, but it didn't respond visually at all as expected. And the AUM experience went nowhere.
The beta needs to throw newbies like me a bone for some initial direction.
I will collect some thoughts to provide some feedback via Slack.
Full disclosure: I've worked as a UX designer / Researcher for 25+ years. Done at least 1200 usability tests.
So I can bore anyone to tears with how to get actionable software feedback from users.
@joegrant413 - It's too late for significant UX changes before release at this point. I'm focusing my own thinking in that area on how getting started guides could ease the learning curve. Michael isn't going to have time to do manuals before release, but I think I'll get some articles along this line ready for the wiki when the app is released.
Videos are great for the kidz and the visual learners, but I personally hate 'em. 😂
Videos are better at 2x the speed with the CC captions on. And on YouTube you can open up a transcript that ain't have bad.
But, yeah, personally I prefer a good manual done by a pro with a couple of key happy paths.
Cheers, Joe
Quick note: and maybe we can continue on the Slack rather than here. Michael noted that the lack of documentation at this point is purposeful. The intention is to gather information from what people find confusing and not obvious -- and then letting that inform both UX decisions and the direction that the docs and tutorials will take. In any case, on the slack any questions you have will be answered -- and any discussion about what you find not obvious will be welcome.
Michael also mentioned in one of his video responses on Slack that there will be no manual at initial release due to lack of time.
Looks like I missed it again. I’m guessing there are no more email alerts then? Looks like it was probably up for at least a day before it filled up. I guess you have to check this thread all the time to be alerted of openings.
Oh nooooo, I missed it again 😭
I feel you, brutha. I was lucky this time.
Check your spam folder also. However I think it might also be said that the emails are not going to everyone but to a subset of the emails on the list based on the date signed up. I got an email and it was several days later that I decided to join.
It won't be long. If you recall Drambo it was months and there was no talk at all about a public beta. So at least this way we get drips of images and videos.
Speaking of which, new video up today about the auto loop detection from @Michael at
Same. 😢
If there was a way to give my access to the beta to someone I would. I have repeatedly failed to grasp how to use it and feel bad for taking up a space. Back to Loopy HD for now.
No more betas for me.
🙏🏽You are not alone😂😂😂
For those of you frustrated or confused by the beta, you can make a significant contribution by asking questions over on the beta and expressing your points of confusion…that will help Michael know where tweaks are needed and what isn’t clear.
