Zentracker takes the complexity out of recording music, turning your mobile device into a handy and intuitive multitrack studio. Whether you're a singer or instrumentalist, Zentracker puts the focus on getting ideas down while they're fresh with an easy-yet-powerful way to record, edit, and mix your music anywhere.
Take it easy.
Recording music doesn't have to be complicated, and you don't need a complex home studio full of expensive gear to do it. Zentracker is simple to use and designed to capture your inspired moments with a friendly, pick-up-and-go approach to recording and mixing. Your studio is never further than your smartphone or tablet, and all of your recording projects can be accessed with a simple tap of your finger.
The best studio is the one you have with you.
Zentracker turns the device in your pocket into a professional-level multitrack recorder with advanced audio production tools. It can be your musical scratchpad or the starting point of a professional production—or both. Quickly record new ideas, finish complete songs, or make Zentracker part of your creative workflow by exporting tracks and stems to use in other DAWs. And you can save projects in Google Drive* and Microsoft OneDrive for easy sharing and collaboration with friends, bandmates, and other artists.
*Google Drive support coming soon
So simple you might just forget how powerful it is.
Don't let Zentracker's simplicity full you—there's a lot of power under the hood, including unlimited audio tracks and sophisticated editing and automation. But power doesn't have to mean complexity. Zentracker's production tools are there when you need them and are thoughtfully integrated to not get in the way of your creativity.
Unlimited tracks. Endless possibilities.
Many famous songs have been produced with 8, 16, or 24 tracks (and some only needed 1 or 2). Zentracker has unlimited tracks, so there are no bounds on your creativity. Craft complex layered textures and harmonies, overdub as much as you want, or use the over 200 included audio loops to fill out your productions. The intuitive mixing console lets you adjust each track's level and pan position with a touch and features 16 audio effects for professional-sounding results that don't require a degree in audio engineering.
Upgrade your experience.
Zentracker is mighty powerful already, but you can access even more features and creative options by upgrading to a premium Roland Cloud membership (Core, Pro, or Ultimate). Not only do you get Zentracker's full feature set, but you get all the other wonders that a Roland Cloud membership has to offer, like authentic Roland virtual instruments and effects, expanded sound content, and more.
Ride for Free.
Maybe the best thing about Zentracker is that you can start using it right away—for free. So what are you waiting for? Download now!

What?? What are differences between this and Roland Zenbeats?
Roland web page info on this subscription, er, "membership" app:
https://www.roland.com/global/products/rc_zentracker/
So... I already know why there was no Zenbeats updates @MatthewAtZenbeats
There's a video here:
Kinda makes me wonder what ‘benefits’ the cloud subscription needed for unlock has if the primary device is an iPhone or an iPad?
…maybe they are busy porting the rest of the cloud stuff or something…
This way they could make every cloud app available as 15 minutes per launch trial for iOS/iPadOS and use the cloud log-in to unlock them…
Anyways I wish them good luck, personally I don’t need this.
I was duped by their confusing subscriptions, lied to by their customer service and disappointed with their software ‘integration’ across platforms. I’m finished with Roland!
What’s the point of this app?. Don’t get it, at all. Looks like a minified Zenbeats.
Same for me!
Instead of enhancing Zenbeats they only concentrate on how to sell subscription...
Don’t you have to have an actual lap/desktop to access Roland Cloud?
Also, Ima leave this right here . Matthew is a good dude. No one can tell me that he isn’t
the problem is certainly not Matthew but Roland.
I’m looking at it as a simple digital portastudio.
Definitely! But maybe he could explain us what just happened...
I have nothing personal against this guy Matthew as I haven’t had any dealings with him but their customer service guy just plain lied and I don’t like that. It’s an insult!
Absolutely - not Tracker as in C=64, but Tracker as in tool for tracking. Seems to be aimed at everyone who doesn’t use virtual instruments?
Hmmm… mixed feelings about this. I fully acknowledge that Roland wants and needs to make revenues. This multi-track audio workstation surely fills the needs of some people, bands for instance. It will get Roland some more subscriptions without a lot effort. Simply stripping down Zenbeats. I also would have preferred they would have spent the resources into improving Zenbeats.
Let’s see this positive. Probably this app will enable Roland to fund the development of both apps. In my opinion the Midi part of Zenbeats is already quite good. What is missing is more in the audio part, audio busses for instance. And the audio capabilities seem to be shared by both apps.
Yeah, but they are a little late to the party. Some people will get use out of this but a lot of the folks here already have multiple iOS software packages for multitrack recording. Maybe it is not aimed at the AB Forum crowd.
i just gave it a test.
They basically took Zenbeats and made it uglier.
Just as Zenbeats, no way to audition changes in the audio editor, which kills the meaning of it.
No midi tracks, basically just a loop and track recorder.
Mixer goes only full screen, colours and interface are ugly (personal taste ).
if you own Zenbeats, or any other iOS DAW, you don’t need this (obviously people might think it’s useful).
the only good thing, i’ve found is that now the playhead plays immediately when you change it’s position in timeline.
When @MatthewAtZenbeats said they were working on something top secret, i hope it’s not this 😂
Pass for me.
They have made it to work right back to iOS 11 so I guess they are really aiming for the general user, not the iOS music fanatic. Fair enough.
They have ‘upgraded’ most of their apps with subscription unlocks.
Do you need to log in to a Roland account to use the free version?
Yes you have to
OK, thanks.
I hate apps that require you to log in.
Trackers should be banned
Some amazing possibilities in sunvox but it should really have a normal linear sequencing mode
Wait
It’s not even a tracker lol
No, somebody banned them
You can use it (limited-no save) without logging in.
OK, thanks. I think I'll just give this one a miss.
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to hop in and comment on a few things. First, thanks for checking out Zentracker. As some of you have pointed out, this app is not aimed at the hard core Audiobus users.
@cyberheater put it best.
That is goal of Zentracker. A simple quick way to capture and edit multitrack audio. It is like a light version of Zenbeats and will stay that way for simplicity sake.
For Zenbeats users, all I can say is this. We are (and have been) working on fun new stuff for Zenbeats and I can't wait to share it with you guys when it's ready. I can say, some of those enhancements are in Zentracker today so I encourage you guys download Zentracker and check it out. I'd love to get your feedback on the overall usability, navigation, new tracking and editing features and such. Your feedback on Zentracker will help us shape the next version of Zenbeats.
Some additional direct replies:
@Paa89 As I mentioned above this not all we're working on. Thanks for the feedback on the audio editor! Question, did you try the dark theme? If not, I'd love to get your opinion on it.
@krassmann I hear you and know we are working on improving Zenbeats. Adding new audio engine/editing features was a big focus with Zentracker and those improvements will be coming to Zenbeats. I'd love to get your feedback on our new touch editing experience on both pattern handling and editing. Feel free to DM me any thoughts.
@ajmiller : Sorry you had a terrible experience. I'd love to try to help you with this. DM me with more details and we'll take it from there.
PS: Just a heads up. I'll be taking a few days off starting tomorrow, so any DM or comment replies will be delayed.
Talk soon!
