    Recent update might help

Unfortunately it doesn't help here. Also tried to reinstall and reboots.
On iPhone SE with same iOS 13.7 it doesn't even work. So maybe not a device but an iOS problem

  • @Gilbert thanks. It works if I copy some files into the folder using the Files app.

The Import Audio menu item is not working for me, though.

I think there may be an issue with import on 48khz devices like the iPad Pro 11" 2018.

On a 44.1khz device, I can import 44.1khz mp3, but not on the 48khz iPad Pro.

    Something like that..

  • New update just came out with AUv3 support. You can now use AUv3 fx inside Wavebox. The AUv3 UIs are currently very small, some are even cropped, but the audio processing works. Once these inital bug are fixed this will be amazing!

Yes, so nice now to be able to process any audio file and/or region in such an uncluttered workspace.
A good idea is to close the browser after opening the files, when working with Auv3.
The small window of the Auv3 leave all visibility to the waveform to make selections and apply the FX. Remember to save the favorite FX as preset if you are going to use it frequently.
For some Auv3 that are not resizable, you need to scroll the UI.
( It seems that the Bypass button is not responsive at the moment. )

    Warm thanks to Luis Rivas!

  • I'm running it on a 1st gen iPad Pro (ios 14.8) - import only works every so often (even on the same file) and playback seems to glitch too. I'll try updating to 14.8.1 and see if it's better.

Just got AU support on a recent update 17 hours ago. Sweet.

  • My mistake it actually hosts Au effects to use inside the app. It’s not an Au app, but an audio editor that can host Au audio fx. Still cool though, just clarifying. Cheers.

  • On iPad Pro 12.9 1st gen oS 13.7 it still crashes

iPad Air3, iOS 14.5.1. Working smoothly.
Have you tried opening files from its browser?

  • How is this free?

Also intermittently fails more often than not on import... iPad Air 3, iOS 15.1

If I do File > Import Audio I get an error with every file I tried. If I go Home > Import from Files, the same files will import. @Gilbert

I concur… but after closing and/or force-quitting the app, when reopening it, Import From Files then works correctly, on files that originally wouldn’t open, but then did when opening from Home. But still doesn’t work on the other problem files that won’t open and were never opened from Home. Convoluted I know. But repeatable.

Also, if a file has managed to be imported, then going to the Home icon, then back with Open Editor, the opened file is deleted. And successfully opened files then won’t import again. You Can’t Go Home Again.

I see. Yes, Import from Files menu in this update became somewhat buggy.
And from Home it sometimes give the error message too.
However you can avoid these messages ( until these bugs are fixed ) by opening your files from the browser. ( Didn't have any error message so far :)
In the browser tap "Folder" and choose "On my iPad" or WaveBox folder ( or any app folder ). It will be easier to access any file and preview them before opening.

Be aware that a tap on the Home button clear everything ( at the moment ). It is the same as "Exit". So don't expect to find the last file (s) opened.
The "Home" button is far on the left just as "Share" is far on the right. That way it will avoid any wrong tap leading to losing your work. Saving is very quick and simple. I use the menu File only for "Close selected" or "Close All", useful when you want to start afresh without exiting the app. Otherwise I use the buttons.
    Recommended.

I can’t access any folder outside “On My iPad” through the browser… the Audioshare folder is necessary. But it’s a really promising app headed in the right direction. Definitely been looking for an app like this.

  • As you have noticed the little "email" button bottom left of the home page, it might be a good idea to send your feedback/ideas to the developper.
Also note that he is also improving his other high quality apps.

  • New update just came out, now with resizable AUv3 UI. Awesome!

  • Doesn't work on macOS Mojave (v10.14).
After loading the file, i can't play it or delete the file.

Not sure if known - App crashes on launch on iOS13.7 (Air3)

Edit: looks like known issue, from earlier comments

I have this but (for shame) have not allowed it to stretch its legs yet. Any thoughts/feelings/opinions?

It’s pretty good. I think it will hit some people better than others. The audio editing apps I’ve used all have a little plus/little minus when it comes to workflow. I find myself using AudioShare, the editor in NS2, Koala and Auditor depending on what I’m doing. There are several others that are good. Hokusai has seen some nice updates and SoundLab is not bad.

What I find unique and convenient:

    • The browser on the left side ( toggle on/off ). Preview of audio files/samples, visual with waveform. Audio can start at different points in the file and can be seamlessly looped while auditioning.

    • Zoom of main waveform as easy/flexible as TwistedWave; just drag your finger/pencil up or down.

    • The selection ( in green ) can be moved right or left; just drag it.

    • Multiples audio files can be opened in same time, making very easy to cut/copy/paste between them.

    • Most of standard editing operations instantly done by tapping one of the 9 icons below the waveform.

    • A vast number of audio process in the Actions menu, including Time Stretch/Pitch change

    • Process the audio with any of your Auv3

    • Or/and with the new pack of 9 Effects.

    • Saving files is very easy in many formats including FLAC, and allow to save split regions in wav and Alac formats. ( this is missing in TwistedWave )

    • Import audio from video

So far only one thing is really missing ( for me ): saving a project/session.
It may materialize in a next update.

Thank you and thanks for reminding me about Hokusai! It has been many years....
