Here is a short overview of what you will get with the app. If you have questions, feel free to ask anything, I'll look it up in the app:
.
Also @FloRi89 its no longer subscription only. It was at first but was recently updated. You can pay 3.99 to unlock octane and get the factory and Halloween bundles free. Then you can go 1.99 per kit for IAP which Is the method I went with since I didn’t want to go subscription.
Yes thanks for the info, I added that as comment to the video below. I made the footage for the video before that was the case. You are probably someone who would fit the target group, what do you think so far?
I think its a great idea and something that iOS needs, but I think it’s current implementation could be viewed as frustrating for iOS users. It’s trying to merge 2 stores in one, meaning their main website store and the iOS purchases as a single thing. Thus requiring a log-in and internet connection to use the app. I get why, but it’s something iOS users aren’t used to dealing with. Results may vary.
It’s early, but promising.
Why do you still need to sign up & log in?
Because they want you integrated into their sonicsounds.com ecosystem. Basically any purchase you make on your iOS device is passed onto the soundsounds.com store as a purchase.
100%!!!!
Well I decided to give OCTANE synth app a try
My results are as follows
Subscription , yea good luck with that.
It’s not strictly subscription. You can either buy into the app for a one time purchase of $3.99 + $1.99/pack (you don’t have to buy packs) or you can spend $3.99 + $3.99/month for an octane + plus subscription that give you access to all the packs. Whatever purchase that one decides to make works across iPhone, iPad, Pc, & Mac. It’s actually a great value, especially for multi-platform users.
@oldschoolwillie what are we getting paying the basic price for the app?
How many presents, how many GB for samples should we reserve on the device?
Almost 10 GB’s of sounds and hundreds of presets.
The inbuilt reverb is serviceable but the sounds shine with much better reverb for sure.
There is quite a range of sounds.
Thanks for the info. Sounds tempting, especially considering the price.
No problem.
I've haven't played around with it in depth but
I've always found something I like when going through presets.
So basic IAP offers only 240 factory presents and two additional free but rather low value packs.
A not so useful feature of this app is it will forget the chosen sound of previous recordings so good luck if you can't remember.
