    Thanks!

What a shame, another bug ridden app released too early.......... Deleted until fixed.

After years of buying music apps and been stung more than once with crap apps that don't work properly, some on recommendations from members on this forum, I ask myself is this forum the equivalent of the Stepford wives? Everyones perfect, everyones a winner boys and girls!

We could do with some real, honest, in-depth and subjective reviews pointing out the bad as well as the good. How will music made on IOS go forward and progress if everyone ignores the shortcomings of an app and rewards averageness? The reason I became obsessed with music apps is seeing the innovation, creativity and genius of app like Thumbjam and thinking "this is the dogs bollocks!" Osililab.........bollocks.

    Bit defensive, yes.

Okay... You're really making a mountain of a molehill... As previously stated this is a 1.0 release, and being that this is a multiplatform app, you complaining about "iOS music" you are not only incorrect but making yourself look like a complete fool. You are complaining about spending so much money in the past over one simple hiccup that really has no bearing on the final product you can produce with this. Personally I find it pretty decent that this is the only issue anybody has encountered.

Usually people don't jump in and purchase an app like this without trying a demo first, especially if they've been burned more than once from previous apps. Just saying... It seems like you're just a bit butthurt that you didn't have some patience to try it before purchase, and that's nobody's fault but yours. Show me an app that got everything right in the first official release. You can't. That's one reason app developers release these awesome things known as upgrades. They fix previous issues and usually have added features.

I'm sorry you feel like these reviews are dodgy or dishonest, but just because you don't believe something that doesn't mean it's untrue.

Sorry you want to turn this into your own agenda of "Buyer Beware". Not sorry for you, but for the developer being slammed over a small glitch and having an app that clearly stands tall discredited. Perhaps, if you truly feel as strongly about this as your previous posts suggest, maybe you should learn some programming skill and code your own. I bet if you did you wouldn't release a perfect product right away, eh?

You're not being defensive. You're being ridiculous.

  • It should also be noted that it doesn't really matter what DAW you use to make music. What matters is the skill of the person using it. Caustic 3 on Android has a similar glitch where the sound stutters for a whole half second if you change tempo during playback. Has it in any way had negative impact on the projects created? Not one bit. If you're letting this little issue that will likely be fixed very soon prevent you from creation, perhaps it is yourself to blame for not understanding the insignificance of your whole complaint. The apps don't make the music for you.

That may shock you, I know. But maybe you needed someone to tell you this. You're welcome. Don't worry, "iOS music" will progress just like "Android music" continues to. It's gonna be alright, man.

It annoys me when apps are released with very obvious bugs that should have been fixed beforehand, and with seemingly basic features that are missing (Audiobus, Audiocopy/paste etc). This doesn't really apply for Oscilab as far as I'm concerned, though, as the 1.1 update came out very speedily.

But I don't mind the upgrade path for things like MIDI clock and other extra features that take time to implement over and above the basic functionality of the app. The devs have to eat, after all! Sometimes I despair at the slow pace of necessary upgrades for bugfixing, mind!

Yeah, thanks Keebo, everything has been installed and re-installed. It seems to happen after I've created a new song with maybe, 4 or 5 instruments, changing all parameters, saving a scene, copying that scene, changing parameters then save again. When I change scenes there's lag and stutter before the next scene starts. I like this app, it has great potential but if there's a bug, the devs should be made aware, as should any potential buyer with older equipment.

And for fuck sake, you're complaining about this happening when you have that many instruments playing simultaneously? Seriously? You said yourself you're using an older iPad for a brand-new app. A serious musician obsessed with music apps would realize the hardware might be the issue, and solve that quickly. It's not the developer's fault you don't wish to purchase a newer iPad to enjoy this app like everybody else does. Your problem cannot be replicated by anyone here. I don't think there's any simpler way to explain this.
