… and let's not forget the absolute killer feature: you can favorite presets!!!!!1! :D

Absolutely. On the first scroll through the 110 presets I favourited 15 of them. Can't be bad for the price of a small beer.

After buying some truly complicated apps recently (Sparkle and iDensity WTF!) this is blissfully simple.

Strange that it's not universal though.

  • @lofi_tape Please consider adding more details within the App Store description about the included and varied instruments - I’d have missed this wonderful app had I not read the additional info in this thread.

Very nice…many of the sounds have an ethereal quality to them that I really like…
Put Alteza on top and…oh yeah…

    My dog

  • Coffee Piano is nuts! Best sounding lo-fi piano everrrrr!

  • I bought this brilliant and beautiful sounding App after listening to about three of the demos here on the Forum.
I really love this Lo-Fi vibe, I’m going to be using this a lot going forward.
It will great with things like ENSO & Gauss.
Here is my live stream from last night, hope you enjoy.

  • Love it. Highly recommended!.

    Okay. First go:

All sounds and fx from LoFi Tape, sequenced by Cykle (‘Broken Brass’ ) and Zoa ‘(Xylo Ren’ (lol), ‘Warm Flute’, ‘Swell String’ (I think - it seems to only put a tick against the last selected preset)

It really is a lovely thing.

I didn’t even hear your piece and bought the app on your recommendation, then I heard it and am very very happy and impressed!

  • @sevenape : thank you! Yes, the app certainly has some lovely presets. :)

  • Only downside: I have gone to great lengths to make tracks that sound like they’re being played on a damaged piano in the abandoned school from “Children of Men,” and now it’s just another preset that everybody has. Alas.
    Just beautiful.

  • @lofi_tape lovely app, many thanks !

  • It’s odd that there is no visual feedback when you bypass an effect? Possibly a bug?

There is a little message when you bypass it, is very confusing as it says bypass on when the effect is off and bypass off when the effect is on xD It's correct, but against all other plugins xD But yeah, a firm light would be great.

Also another bug: when you first open the auv3 there is no preset loaded, so no sound, I have been trying a couple times to fix my midi chain because lofi tape is refusing to emit a sound xD

Also the chorus and flanger sound nothing like a chorus and flanger to my ears. They are very weird fx.

I was expecting the button to light up as well. I just happened to notice the message. I don’t get the “bypass off/on” approach either. That is in eSPI 1200 also but not consistently. There, some parameters say “bypass off/on” and some “effect name off/on”. Now that’s confusing!

Still it's my favorite new app lol xD

  • Best value app I have bought for some time, a good variety of sounds in there.

Works on the M1 Macs as well. You need to search for the app in the iPad/iPhone section and it is one of those that looks like you need to purchase again but doesn't charge you. Tested in MTS on iOS/Desktop and the project works seamlessly between the two platforms, plugin loaded automatically and presets preserved both ways. I expect GarageBand -> Logic will also be smooth with this one but have not tested yet.

Great app and I would be happy to buy further presets of this quality in the future.

  • More cool sounds. Now I just have to make something with them! Hmmm.

    Yep! +1 on “very confusing”.
An effect is “on” or “off”. Not the bypass!. Kills 3 neurons every time. The fact the tittle light/button doesn’t update kills another 2.

I'd suggest to report this to the developer: I wrote him for a bug I've found and he promptly answered.

Check the bottom of his page https://lofipiano.wordpress.com/

[Edit] nevermind, I've noticed he's in this thread 😅

  • one litte bug i found: when loaded as auv3 in AUM and the plugin window is closed, while playing/holding notes and activating the window disrupts the audio. anybody has the same behavior?

Thank you for the feedback everyone - "Bypass" will be removed in the next update + other fixes on the way!

  • Digging this app. Simple and to the point. Lofi goodness.

    👍 and don’t forget the lights! 😜

  • Another 100 presets added as an IAP. This is my goto app for quickly throwing some sounds together for testing new FX etc. Took a while for the purchase to go through for some reason but the new set of sounds is worth the asking price (£4.49 I think it was).

I love both of his apps and the presets are great so I’ll probably buy this. The infinite reverbs and delays mixed with distortion can really push it into crazy territory.

Thanks for the notification! Do these new presets use new samples (as I hope) or are they just tweaks on the available ones?
    Thanks

Good question. I have already installed the update so I cannot tell now whether the install grew or not. I get the impression that there are at least a few new samples - the “Hi-Gain” preset for instance is an electric guitar sample that I do not recall being in the original. I haven’t updated the app on my Mac yet so I should be able to tell for sure tomorrow.

Thank you! Looks like new recordings from the description! I bought it and loved almost every sound. As someone said, there are only usable patches in this synth 😊 If youlike the initial patches, the extension is worth it.

Just to confirm, file size went from 43 to 63 megs on my Mac and there are also 100 more sample files in the package compared to before, so the new presets are not just reusing the existing samples,
